e-Reception Book by MediaBase Direct Reviews
MatZeRO replied to DaveA's topic in How do you do....it?
Hi Boredguy, could you give me more information about this? We use the lesson attendance to record behaviour on the register. i.e the students get 1 for bad behaviour etc. We are looking to install the signing in software and I'm worried this may cause an issue. Thanks in advance. -

Good write up on this here: https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-reminds-all-its-friday-the-13th-as-defender-deletes-shortcuts-on-windows-10/
-
We have this issue. Our Start Menus are emptying. Also if you access a machine via share the rule kicks in and removes the shortcuts. Temporarily we have created a shared folder and dropped shortcuts in for Staff to continue to access the shortcuts. We have also blocked the Defender rule.

GDPR IT Department - What should we be doing
MatZeRO replied to dastrix's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
We are about to advertise a job for this role. It is a very short amount of time to get up to speed before the GDPR comes into force so I don’t envy the person that gets the job. -
Back online now it seems

Their website still appears to be down.

Power shell script to change perms on a scheduled task? Or if they don’t need to access their account you could setup permitted logon times for the user (assuming you use AD)

If we could understand your overall aim and the reason why you want to do this and what you want to achieve, I think we could help you more efficiently.
-
Hi! May I ask why? What are your aims? Are you doing this to learn or is there another reason?
-
What exam are you taking? What made you interested in taking it in the first place?
-
We have ours on the network, 16 cams, HD and it make no noticeable impact on the network.
-
Very true. We have around 750 machines to patch, 160 are staff laptops that are always in use on and off site. Patching the laptops is the most difficult device to get sorted.
-
I’m curious to know how long it generally takes you guys to get patched 100%? I.e. how long between MS releasing and you having all servers and endpoints fully updated? It seems on my WSUS server our pie charts are never fully green!

USB Device Encryption - How Are You Doing it?
MatZeRO replied to AngryITGuy's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
We do this using Bitlocker and store recovery keys in AD in case they forget the password. We enforce this for any storage device staff use. They provide their own devices.
