I asked this question a while ago, as Northampton (where I live) was close to a lockdown, but I work 20 miles away so the school would be "clear". Never really got a response from SLT, then again this was while the school was closed and I was working from home so it never really made any difference.

Went to a car show today. Can't resist an auto jumble, always buy something - it's like an addiction. Still, it's my only vice...

We have been told lots about what we can and can't do (term starts on Monday) - no more than six staff in a room at any time, so staff room is limited and other "break stations" available. Will be interested to see if pepole stick to the rules - support staff have been "given" the staff room, so in theory no teachers allowed!

Thanks - that could work, but no "lobby" feature in Google Meet (as far as I can see) - however we do have to inidividually approve non-domain users into a Meet, so could use that feature instead.

Not sure if anyone else has come across this yet, but thought it was work asking! It was dropped on me yesterday, while on site, that parents evenings will need to be "online" for at least the next term. As an guide, our year group parents evenings normally have up to 20 staff, and around 40-50 families with five minute slots. Currently we use our MIS to book slots, but I can't see that working for a Google Meet call as we'd have to send all the links out manually. Also an added hassle of trying to work out how you tell Mrs smith to hang up as her five minutes is up, and then connect with Mr Jones afterwards without him interrupting the current "meeting". Has anyone thought of this, and come up with a solution?

Northampton threatened to be under "local lockdown" soon due to a spike in cases, but (as ever) not really clear what that will mean. Advice from the council sent out yesterday only seems to confuse the issue. We're trying to work out if "Limit contact with others outside of your household or bubble" means we have to stop our recently resumed touch rugby training - which is already limited to pods of six with no contact.

Going through this myself - one building rewired last summer, now we're on the "let's change offices" merry-go-round, so currently (who knows, this has already changed once in the last fortnight) three people are moving into a room with one double network socket. Apparently this needs to be done between returning to work on 17th August and the start of term. Bear in mind this is an old building, wooden floorboards, so will need a site survey - and have to find a company that's available!
