I had these with I think it was Crucial SSDs and the combination of the SSD and the BIOS is incompatible with Windows 10. The only solution is to swap them out. They have Kingstons in now and work perfectly fine. Its annoying that they have never released a BIOS update to fix this issue. Ian

Hello We have found that our trusty Gemini x501 serial card reader is not compatible with Windows 10. I have been quote by them £195 + VAT for a USB replacement. I have found this that they have said should be ok, has anyone else sourced their own for a more reasonable priced and can confirm it works with impact/idstore? Thank you Ian

I used thie guide - Server 2012/Windows 8 – Ribbon UI: Disable Icons, Buttons, Shortcuts, Tasks, and Commands | Paper Street Online Ran the script on my main image and the control the options with GPO preferences.

I tried for ages to find an answer to this, the only solution I found was the Prevent access to drives from My Computer - Restrict C drive only this is under Windows Components -> File Explorer (possibly the setting you have set but had issues). This didn't remove the option but just displays an error when they do click on it. Ian

Hello We are looking at internet provision for our local primary schools and although we use Smoothwall. We have had quotes and are considering RM with their cloud filtering option RM SafetyNet. Can anyone give me their options in this good or bad? We will use desktops, laptops and IPads (can it filter these transparently?) Thank you Ian

Can I ask, are you using the smoothwall login scripts for your authentication?

We have this too, changed to IE 11 and New smoothwall over half term so thought it was due to this. Tried chrome still no joy. Enlights/BCS tell me they have no issues and sent me the initial setup guide again. I have noticed that all traffic hits our smoothwall as unauthenticated and never as the user.

I have all the extensions locked down in chrome GPO with a whitelist of the ones I need. This currently on has the 'id' for Enlight ECDL plugin that I have also 'force installed' without an issue. I have gone to add the LanSchool WebHelper Extension id and it still says it is blocked if I try to add it manually, and fails to add automatically. The 'id' I have for this is honjcnefekfnompampcpmcdadibmjhlk I have checked this on both the Chrome Store and LanSchool knowledgebase. Has anyone had similar issues, and if so how was it resolved?

Hello I've read previously but cannot find it after endless searching, that there were some additions needed to the SIMS Permissions script/GPO to allow the Exams module to update successfully as a Staff member and not requiring and Admin logon. I seem to think it was some registry keys that needed modifying but not sure which. Can anybody help with this? Thank you Ian

Hello I am trying to unblock Demand Five for our staff, currently it doesn't display to Play controls When watching the traffic through both Smoothwall and the local developer tools, it contacts endless domains, mainly for adverts. Could anyone who has been through this tell me which domain is hosting what I guess is a JavaScript of Flash file that is stopping the play controls to display. Thank you Ian
