Hoping somebody will see me reviving this thread, we eventually moved to external catering providers who have stuck with BlueRunner for a bit before looking elsewhere and have settled on Pebble. Does anybody have any experience with Pebble? Thanks

We recently had a Careers Fair here and a Tom Hudson from Google Deepmind was in to talk to the students but I didn't get to catch him. I see LGfL SchoolProtect is going to start blocking AI Chat & Image Generators by default.

@Manny-Tech in a similar but not exactly the same position as yourself I think. All staff and student home directories were moved to OneDrive using Known Folder Move via Intune. We have two shares, ShareA for staff to put resources for students and ShareB for staff to put resources for staff. Now working with Salamander to create a student Team for every subject, with channels for each year group that are locked down to students and staff of that year group. This will replace ShareA. Then create a staff Team for every subject\non-teaching department where they can put staff-only resources. This will replace ShareB. The idea is to create those structures in Teams and give staff a whole academic year to move resources off the shares before cutting them off for September 2026. Given that we already have Salamander creating Teams for individual classes I am hoping this will all work well. Thanks

Good afternoon, Probably not strictly a Windows 10 query but seeing an issue on one PC where regardless of user, a particular network drive does not get mapped at logon. I've tried looking in Event Viewer but not really sure what I would be looking for in terms of an error, it doesn't help that I'm not overly familiar with how the drives get mapped as I inherited but think it is a logon script by GPO. Does anybody have any suggestions? I did wonder if it was a networking-level thing, switch port config etc. Thanks

@pickman, I inherited a Watchguard when I started here a few years ago having never even heard of them and I cannot recommend Epicnet enough for support. Small, caring, unassuming company to the point where I had no idea for months that I had actually been dealing with the owner as he is hands on taking calls and offering technical assistance. I know of TeachMateAI because my partner works in a primary and they use it, some of you may have heard of ict_mrp on social media and he had a fair bit to do with the creation of TeachMateAi as I understand it. He gave a talk at BETT last year about the platform and did mention the merger with LGfL, he even gave away free signed copies of his book and stopped for a selfie

@denzal2k4 for us it is a matter of months not days or weeks in terms of how often we need a Ricoh engineer and we have some newer devices, some older, some big, some small

@denzal2k4 we did a refresh with Ricoh recently and I recommend them the same as previous posts. We use HID iClass cards, scan to OneDrive, scan to e-mail and it all works as you would expect. Drop me a PM if you would like contact details for our Ricoh account manager, really great guy who has helped us with print and other solutions for a few years now.

I've pushed back as much as I can but we have got Applicaa coming in tomorrow for a demo, how is everybody getting on with it now? Any alternatives? @ITGuyNW did your finance team find anything?

@kennysarmy In the end, I went for it, implemented the known folder move via InTune using the Microsoft suggested settings that Tablet Academy gave us during training and took away all of the on-site redirection GPOs. Login times are quicker, no negative impact to staff in terms of missing files. The only thing is that I think our Teams installation is done in a bit of a strange way so users who move around a lot end up with multiple icons for it on the desktop, presumably where Desktop redirection to OneDrive forms part of that policy I mentioned.

Good afternoon all, I am having an issue logging into VCenter with Windows Authentication, everything was fine until a few days ago but now I receive this error: "[400] An error occurred while processing the authentication response from the vCenter Single Sign-On server. Details: Status: urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:Responder, sub status: null." We have been steadily migrating VMs off VCenter to Azure HCI but I can't imagine what changed since Friday to cause this error, I even put the last migrated VM back just in case there was something I had missed. Does anybody have any advice or guidance on this please? Thanks

@psydii "How do the DfE suggest you estimate the cost of the project if you can't pay for a professional to survey the technical challenges provided by the building and local requirements?" I've put this to them more than once but never really get an answer. @pete Switchshop did a great job on our core and edge switch refresh last year and it is them I have gone to for the wireless survey.

Good morning, Does anybody have any experience with getting the DfE to pay for wireless surveys using SCA (LCVAP) funding? At the moment my application for a whole school wireless survey is being rejected, I am told they will only fund the refresh itself. To which I query how we know the cost without the survey...

Good afternoon, I'm working on our upgrade to Windows 11 and in testing have found an issue with connecting to our normally automatic wireless profile. The error received is that in the title along with "Failure reason: Explicit Eap failure received" Has anybody else experienced this\found a fix when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11? Thanks

@3s-gtech Indeed, with the server on, I can see some users with open files on the drive\share that I am not expecting them to have. This indicates to me that somehow they are still seeing these directories or being redirected to them but why this would cause slow performance with the server off I am not sure. Thanks

Good morning all, I've got an old Server 2016 VM that was running the workfolders role, it was primarily used for user home directories and it had a share on for Sage. I thought I was finally in a position to get rid of it having migrated user home directories to OneDrive and Sage to a new VM but when I shut it down we get slow performance on clients when browsing for files, opening attachments, and anything that involves File Explorer opening really. I'm not sure what I could have missed here, some redirection stuff buried in group policies that are still pointing to the server maybe? Possibly a file path\DNS thing? I'm open to suggestion if anybody has any ideas. Thanks in advance
