Our Data Manager has had SIMS.net crash ten times in the last hour and she is doing nothing intensive, just editing staff records. Anyone seen that specific error before? All I can advise to her is to restart as soon as it crashes once and also to limit the number of applications open when she is working in SIMS. The PC is fairly good spec: MSI Micro ATX H81M-P33 Intel Core i5-4460 12 GB RAM 120 GB SSD drive.

Yes yes yes But what are the actual really useful benefits... Can my daughters set up their own Amazon accounts and link in to the benefits I have rather than using my logon?
-
I've just signed up for a 30 day trial of Amazon Prime with a view to keeping it for the Amazon Photos if I can work out how it works. Any Amazon Prime guru's out there care to explain to me what other great features come with Amazon Prime? I've also got two daughters still living at home - are there benefits for me being a member for them too?

I'd imagine if you get a good item it's great, the problems may arise if you need to do a return... https://www.reviews.io/company-reviews/store/eglobalcentral-co-uk I'd definitely spend a few extra pounds to get the peace of mind.... -
Our quote was four figures! So deputy said "no".

I would n't class our school as rural necessarily but we've still got a very "open" site....there is absolutely nothing to stop anyone from driving on to or walking on to our site! I'm looking for a free "screen messaging system" that would allow key staff to send pop-up alerts to all domain connected PC's - coming up with a blank so far

Has anyone else noticed a deterioration in support on the SWGfL - I've had a couple of issues recently which I'm sure in the past would have been resolved by now. One call has been open for nearly two weeks and it's a simple web-page not rendering correctly!

I can navigate to here: https://ec.europa.eu/info/topics/budget_en but most of the links off that page don't load either Maybe it's to do with BREXIT! -

Maybe it's school's going through "Grids" that don't work ? -
You know that in a few years if you pull out the old cables, some new SMT member will want you to put PC's back in the adjacent rooms! Just leave the points in place, run new cabling and just patch in the ones you need.

Oddly even if I bypass the smoothwall and go straight out to the upstream SWGfL proxies I get the same error with Chrome and IE -

Does anyone know if it's possible to create an SSID which only allows access to one URL?

So how does that work with the 25 no. requirement ? We've all but migrated to Windows 10 across the site and next week when I pull 24 laptops running Windows 7 out of Science and replace them with 24 new devices running Windows 10 we'll only have about 18 Windows 7 devices left, all laptops. Will they immediately start to complain about not being activated? How long will it take KMS to realise there are less than 25?

We've had quite a few issues with mail being rejected. Advice from our support people is "I’d always be recommending MDaemon is the one that holds the MX record as this way it performs all the spam filtering and IP level checks on the original mail server and you don’t see these problems." - - - Updated - - - Thanks.
-
We use an on-prem Mdaemon Email Server and I've been advised that this would work a lot better in terms of security if we removed the upstream mail relay! So I'm looking at removing the RM SMTP store and forward service from our portfolio. Does anyone know what would be involved in removing this service and getting mail flowing directly to our own mail server?

Interested to hear views on this article: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Windows-IT-Pro-Blog/Changes-to-Office-and-Windows-servicing-and-support/ba-p/151509 Particularly the bit about Office 365! Effective January 14, 2020, ProPlus will no longer be supported on the following versions of Windows. This will ensure that both Office and Windows receive regular, coordinated updates to provide the most secure environment with the latest capabilities. Any Windows 10 LTSC release Windows Server 2016 and older Windows 8.1 and older We've been running a rock solid LTSB version of Windows 10 for over 18 months and we're now starting to look at deploying out Office 365 - seems we might have to scrap all our desktops and re-image everything again on a new Windows 10 flavour

Still using Movie Maker here too on Windows 10.

I'll give it a try - cheers.
