If you used the bank switching service, are you sure they haven't already made that arrangement with your employer? The 13 months thing is just a safety net for anything that gets missed.

I use a service called Zoolz which is based on Amazon's storage platform. Main benefit being that it gives previews of RAW images so I can find the archived photo I want easily, although being on the glacier storage it takes a while to retrieve it.

I work at a uni and I pretty much concur with Valynn. Here there is a big difference between the roles of our central IT guys who tend to work in teams which specialise in a particular area, and those of us in the various schools who have a more varied role that works with all of those central teams.

I don't think pubs etc need any special license to show sport that's on terrestrial TV, so it's probably the same deal. So long as the premises has a license you're fine.

Great show, crap app. Get a basic lightweight audio streaming app (I found one called Serve Stream on Android) and grab the stream URL from UK and Irish Radio Stations broadcasting on the Internet and the experience is much better - I can actually use other apps my phone while I listen without it breaking up, unlike with the official bloatware or Tune In. I've also heard a suggestion that switching to the Manchester stream works better as fewer people are using it.

I'm quite tempted by this deal HP ProLiant Gen8 G1610T 4GB RAM MicroServer - Ebuyer Could be a decent replacement for my aging Synology NAS. Possibly with Xenserver and a couple of different Linux installs doing different things.

Equally some cameras in the typical SLR form factor are technically not SLRs at all if we're being pedantic - Sony's more recent models use a semi-transparent mirror rather than the mirror moving (the "reflex" bit) when you take the shot. That makes it lighter but still has that familiar form factor, which personally I quite like for stability.

Are you meaning an optical viewfinder or do you consider an LCD viewfinder to be acceptable? I used to be of the same opinion, but upgraded my Sony A200 to an A58 which has LCD screen and LCD viewfinder and I now hate using the old Nikon at work which is optical only. My eyesight is no longer good enough, even with the dioptre corrector on the body, to be able to use the optical finder without my glasses, and with them I can't focus properly on the whole of the image. I find the LCD viewfinder on the A58 is easier to focus on somehow, but I tend to use the screen (unless it's too bright to see it) because I find I can judge what is in focus more clearly on the bigger image. Plus I can get shots from angles that I could never hope to get otherwise with the fold out screen - handy for that annoying situation where you turn up early before an event to get a nice unobstructed spot, then as soon as anything happens there are loads of kids being hoisted onto shoulders blocking your shot.

It's part of Unicode, so I guess to be standards compliant they have to include it.

I generally use A mode all the time (so I can control depth of field/bokeh easily), occasionally go to S if I want a long exposure and occasionally fully manual if I'm using my cheapo not-quite-compatible flashgun.

Borrowing money to put away for a house deposit sounds like a strange way of doing things - especially as you'll be paying more interest on it as a loan than you would earn on it as savings.

The Sky theory is just a conspiracy theory for now. Hopefully the Clarkson deal might make them see sense - should be lots of interest in Amazon's streaming offering and plenty of people willing to jump ship to Amazon's hardware.

Roku doesn't do Amazon in the UK, but it does in the US. iPlayer is there though.

I have the older model of Roku 2.

I've got a lot of sympathy with this point of view: Google 'should be allowed in examinations' - BBC News

Houses of Parliament - repair, rebuild, decamp or relocate
SteveBentley replied to localzuk's topic in General Chat
However it's not fit for purpose, going to so basic a level as there only being space for 427 MPs to sit in the chamber, whereas there are 650 constituency seats. -
I would imagine that it's part of the terms of your CLA license that they can audit you for compliance with the terms of it.

I was taught to pull forward on green and wait for a gap in oncoming traffic. Often if you wait behind the line traffic not wanting to turn is stuck behind you. If you want to see an epic fail in road design, by the way, try this https://goo.gl/maps/sXuRt On the main road, heading east. Motor vehicles stop at the first stop line, cyclists stop at the second advance stop line. Which is on the other side of the bloody junction. So cyclists who aren't aware of this fantastic bit of design and using it as per the Highway Code find themselves in the path of vehicles coming down Blackmoorfoot Road and taking that junction. Another triumph by Kirklees Council.

These kind of conversations usually boil down to how many accessories you have for your current camera, and usually end up with people buying the same make to maintain compatibility. However Sony have thrown in a curve ball with the A58 in that they've changed the hotshoe, so you won't be able to use your existing flashgun, if you have one. The remote port is different too, so if you have a remote release you won't be able to use that either. I'm struggling to find third party accessories. On the upside, the battery is exactly the same as the one in my A200, which was a nice surprise, and means I now have a spare.

For that list of (hardly taxing) requirements, a half decent tablet might be worth considering.

It's live on BBC1, if you have the ability to get an off-air TV feed in at least some areas that might reduce the bandwidth issue.

Isn't that what Interflora is? You place an order and a florist local to the recipient supplies and delivers.
