[android app] Android Beta App Feedback
sparkeh replied to ZeroHour's topic in EduGeek.net Site Problems
Yeah reported that here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/edugeek-net-site-problems/165792-android-beta-app-feedback.html#post1422791 Still getting it. -

Reinstalling seemed to fix my menu problem
-
Oh how sad
-
Another one on the menu. When I touch to open it, it slides out then immediately closes. If I am very quick I can touch a menu item and it opens but its not working as expected.
-
Yes this no longer matches the Android version that has the menu on the left. Personally I find it a bit weird to have the menu moved to the left, for me it feels like it should naturally sit on the left.

Meraki - no profiles available to device
sparkeh replied to sparkeh's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Turned out to a firewall issue. I guess I originally used the Apple IPs that were in use at the time but ended up unblocking the whole Apple range as per: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203609 But rubbish but it works now. -
Meraki has worked perfectly for us for ages but now we have a problem with 3 new iPads. I did the usual: waited for them to appear in the DEP node, assigned the enrollment settings and gave them the tag to assign the right profile. However when I booted the iPads, it tried to apply the profile but told me that the profile was invalid. If I retried it did appear to install a profile but the console reported that it had applied a temporary, "quick Apple push cert" but I needed to install our proper cert. I also noticed that under the profile section it said "no profiles available for this device". It seems that is installs...something...but not our profile. I tried to regenerate the cert but that didn't help. I have checked the profile and it lists the affected devices that it should apply to. Not sure what else to try - any ideas gratefully received.

Now there's a quote! Any elaboration?

Didn't arrive. It's lost in the DPD network and no one knows where it is. Mrs sparkeh was not impressed and phoned Amazon. Never mess with a hot, grumpy, 37 week pregnant lady who was expecting her first cool nights sleep in a long time. A new one is arriving today!

Well, I may be cool but the backup NAS is screaming at me about over heating :S Funny, it made it through yesterday.

Never worked in secondary but have worked in a fair few primaries. They are all very different! Currently I work full time in a large primary and I do love it. Completely responsible for everything IT wise and a fair bit non-IT. :S My advice would be to really check out any potential primary school and their attitude toward IT, their investment money-wise and what they will expect from you.

So what will the advocates of LTSB do if they come across a bug that has been fixed in Redstone but won't be fixed in LTSB for a long time. As @Arthur says
