I've got a T-Mobile MDA Vario II, which is a rebranded TyTN It's got a few little quirks, but I'd expect that from a first generation new phone like this. When I got it, it was a big tech jump from the Nokia phones I'd been used to for the past 10 years... It's certainly got bells and whistles. If I hadn't got it when I did I'd probably have been tempted by the Nokia N95 now. But then I've heard the odd bad stuff about them too. OK, to clarify my previous email (i.e I've spoken to someone else here who knew the whole story)... We had problems with the 2600 model inkjets. We put in new carts and it said they were low/empty. We spoke to the HP reseller and they said that if you replaced the carts without turning the power off it could fry something. We had to send two back for repair. So it sounds like a very similar prob, Dos_Box

We had the same sorts of problems here with 2 HP inkjets. Not sure of the model off the top of my head. They were A3 ones tho. Apparently if you took the cartridges out when it was switched on it buggered up something. Basically we had to ship it back for repair... Could this have happened?

ok Tom, armed with the model number (maybe phone your g/f's mum again to double check) I'd check the Sony website for any relevant manuals.

A Sony camera I worked with recently had a USB-to-MiniUSB connector. It came with a CD that had the required drivers, and Microsoft Movie Maker (part of XP) did the capturing.

Are you 100% sure it's not what you're connecting with? Or an incompatability with it and 3Com? e.g. I've had certain Intel chipset based wireless drop off consistently from Linksys kit, yet it worked fine with Netgear...

I too, just packaged it up to install locally, with a shortcut in Startup Items to launch it, and the .bmp saving in their H: drive.

@john: Yes, agreed. From what I can gather we got them very cheap... and when you're buying 100 that is a more important factor to some people than how kid-proof they are, etc...

We've just installed 68 new dc5750's in our 2 language labs over the break. We had to do a bit of "modifying" to move the front mic port to the back of the PC's. 32 more are going in elsewhere in the school in the next few weeks. You've got me paranoid about them now.............
