Thanks for that info, so just to clarify as we have a guest vlan on port 2 basic interface 192.168.0.1 (i.e. network is 192.168.0.0/24) port 6 is external into a cisco router (port 6 has our external real IP with the gateway set as the cisco router IP) we use the smoothwall as a firewall and web proxy and filter(guardian) and it does dhcp for guest vlan also. we also use https inspection and sync to active directory and google. Looking in web proxy, authentication, manage policies I can see vlan interface under transparent authentication policies: https on, spoofing off. So are you saying I just need to turn spoofing on ? could you explain a bit more about "spoofing" e.g. are there any downsides / gotchas / caveats I should be aware of first ? Thanks again

Hi, I'm trying to get this working, initially to control the bandwidth on our guest network: a 192... / 24 network set up as a vlan on the smoothwall (basic interface) Followed this video https://help.smoothwall.net/FilterFirewall/Content/Video/BandwidthClasses.htm e.g. did: shaping policy: add new policy: Guest add new slice streaming and tick streaming weighting 1 , cap at 2Mbps up and down classes: add new class: Guest with network 192 /24 and new guest shaping policy Also did last bit from video (not sure if needed) : interfaces: add new interface limit on our External (95% of total) Then I test via connecting to guests and start downloading, streaming etc I'm pretty sure its not working as when I look in "Bandwidth diagnostics monitoring" I can see no traffic going through my new Guest class, i.e. it's all going through the original All traffic class Any ideas where I've gone wrong ?

I can't seem to access any http:// sites like example.com via chromebook with smoothwall cloud filter enabled nothing in the real-time log viewer to debug message is this site can't be reached: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED if i click the "i" and go to site settings, insecure content is block default and i can change to allow but makes no difference ?

looks like the sphere software from aver has stopped working, only thing I can see is the ms flash removal update has been applied anybody else using the A+ Suite software from aver ok with no flash ?

we are still on 11.4. On a PC with the MS flash removal update installed the "add or remove programs" still shows "adobe flash player 11 plugin" installed ! maybe by notebook? Anyway flash gallery items don't work. @Koldov can you say some more about your experiences with 19.1 free ? e.g. how to install / sign in functionality vs 11.4 can it open content created in 11.4 ? also are you allowed to run 19.1 on non-smart hardware ? Might get a teacher to test it for me

thanks, rammap does indeed only show the 2GB Google-fu has failed me on this one, tried most suggestions and nothing in bios to tweak. Did notice display adapter listed as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter so updated to Intel HD but made no difference and flaky (screen flashes). Also some missing/generic drivers installed so tried the "intel driver & support assistant" but its just spinning on "scanning your system". Given no 32 bit drivers on HP site think I will have to give up on this one for now

Hi, I have some old HP laptops I'm trying to re-use. With only 32GB hard drive, 4GB Ram they soon run out of space so I thought I'd try 32 bit windows 10 as it is a few GB smaller. HP support only has drivers for 64 bit but the 32 bit install seemed to go ok and left me with 12GB free after a clean install fully updated and putting on office 2016. Only weird thing is it says 1.91GB ram usable and 2.1 GB hardware reserved (checked on a 64 bit install on same laptop model and hardware reserved is only around 100MB!) Any ideas ? I guess for a bit of browsing / word processing 1.91 GB usable should be ok but its bugging me re the missing 2GB, bit of a mystery!?

yes official ipad charger, left on all night still no charge. they have had a lot of use. Also we had one actually expand last year (the battery), pushing screen out so am thinking they are coming to end of life. I suppose 6 years is pretty good. Given they are stuck on ios 12 and age I don't think its worth replacing batteries but do they have any residual value or is it just a case of WEEE ?

getting ipads back that refuse to charge / switch on these are from a batch of mini 2's 32GB wifi, over 6 years old. just get battery symbol, red line with lightning cable symbol on black screen. I'm guessing the batteries have finally died ? Is that about average for ipad batteries ? Thinking not worth replacing batteries but is there any value to be had ? e.g. trade in or will I just have to recycle as WEEE for free?

Hi, we are still using microsoft office professional plus 2016 Whats the best / easiest way to update it? We have WSUS so probably that! Is there a recommended way to find and approve latest updates. if people send email to a shared mailbox is it possible to automate processing of such emails in office 365 e.g. extract data from the email and auto update a spreadsheet with lets say columns timestamp, from, subject, body thinking this could be used for e.g. [email protected] with a subject of "positive" or "negative"

Don't think there is a free "equivalent" as complete as justin for piano/keys. Plenty of stuff on youtube of course song lessons etc of varying quality, also some apps. Depends how you learn best and what your end aims are e.g. read music, take classical grades, or knock out a few songs ?

Yes the teacher was a big Files app user, copying stuff on/off usb. A little bit of training should sort it but still looks like a bug/issue with chrome os, guess as this device is stuck on 84 it will never get fixed. Also found this setting to change download location to drive instead of local which should help https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/2657289?hl=en#download_directory

think I've found a workaround: twinkl provides a save to google drive button, or just right click the "download" button and "save link as" Just get the ppt saved in your drive, now if you try and open file via a double click in the Files app it still fails e.g. blank tab with url address bar: "Office editing for Docs, sheets & sildes chrome-extension://bpm... But if you open a tab and go to google drive and open it works and you can edit it! So something odd going on with interaction between chrome and Files app or maybe a user setting issue.
