  1. One of the Heads I work for is now head at two schools and has one laptop that he wishes to use at both schools. Both have different static IP addresses. What I would like to be able to do for him is write two scripts so he can run one or the other from his desktop and change the IP address and setttings for whichever school he is at. Hope someone can come up with a suggestion, or is there a freebie program that would do this? Paul

  4. lots of my primary schools still have not had them earthed, which I guess will effect the install of the new CLEO network edge devices, yes? Paul

Okay as I said in my first post been using this for a little while, I got it working by, first installing onto client computer, then dropping the exe into the all users startup folder and giving 'everyone' read permission. Finally I found that you have to give 'everyone' read permission on the netsafe folder, which is in the programs folder. Hope that helps Paul
  6. Yep, been using this for awhile, had to change the permissions on the folder for restricted user, but other then that works great, even with firefox!
  7. Yep, same here, as I was able to access other sites my first throught was the host provider, again!
  8. Work in a number of primary schools, with a mix of both boards (and others) Smartboards seem to come out on top as far as teachers are concreaned. As for me, yep, smartboards as well

  10. This is nothing new as far as I am concerned! One of our local schools has for sometime had a head 'from a none teaching background'

  12. Yep that works, Thanks Now as these are branded machines, on first boot they create the partion and install the OS, so this would get over the issue of the machine being sat in the warehouse, wouldn't it? Paul

  14. Not sure on this one as I have just checked a couple of machines and they only show events over the past couple of months, and I known that the machines a more then a couple of months old.

  16. Yes had thought of that one, but looking at the machines they seem to have been brought in batch's, so should be able tell by taking an average!
  17. Is there a way of being able to tell when a computer was first switched on? I guess there must be a file that is date stamped that never changes, any ideas? Why do i want to know this? To try and work out roughly when a PC was brought, without having to go to the admin people and dig out the original invoice! (no I don't have any other records, yes I know!!!!!) Paul

  20. Yes my son ordered some t-shirts only 2 weeks ago, came by DHL, took 1 day to get from the west to east coast of the states, then another day to get over the pond to Manchester and then ............... 2 days to get from Manchester to our house which is an hours drive away!!!!!!! Paul

  23. I would think transport costs to Canada would be quite a bit more then a new board!!!!
