Is it possible to take a 365 cloud only group (for email distribution) and make it AAD synced? Ideally to match all of our other Salamander controlled AD groups which sync to Azure We have a couple of groups that were accidentally created cloud only in the past, and I'd prefer them to be in AD but keep the same group name, I'm sure its not as simple as creating the relevant AD group and hoping AD Sync will replicate to the existing cloud only group!

Thanks, I'm guessing it was an firmware/android update on the BenQ models rather than the Windows side of things?

Thread revival here, as we're seeing exactly the same thing on a Philips board, but there doesn't seem to a fix for this. Anyone else use Philips boards?

Interestingly I tried using the corporate options and it still does the same - when I run the troubleshooter it came up with the following error 'The device or resource (smoothwall.domain.local) is not set up to accept communications on port 'The World Wide Web Service (HTTP)' Which is odd it has full connectivity via the smoothwall, and it seems like its ignoring the corporate options as well I wish this could just be removed, its utterly useless in a work enviroment!

We already have Credential Guard disabled to get our wifi working (will get around to making this cert based at some point!) It definitely seems wifi based as plugging in a wifi device into the lan there's no issues at all.
-
Rebooted our smoothie and it made no difference unfortunately. Its a shame we can't just disable this dog of a feature as it seems to break SSO into 365 if it thinks there's not internet, even when there is!

I seem to be having some issues with some newish interactive screens and Windows 11 and ink - in W10 you had the ink workspace in the taskbar and you could annotate the desktop etc, and use the draw features in Office. The Ink Workspace seems to have gone, and is in the Store, but not and MS application, and even though the boards are detected as touchscreens the Draw menus (in Powerpoint for example) aren't appearing Is the MS version of workspace now gone, or is it now a third party application?

We're only seeing this on wifi devices. Its variable as well - but our 365 single sign on isn't working for them either - but only over wifi! So if I test a laptop and login as any account (staff, admin, student) and open Word - it asks the user to sign in - which then works ok. However if I connect the laptop to a standard network port and do exactly the same login, it single signs in to 365 as expected! If I then login to the same laptop over wifi again, it works as expected, so its almost like the first run over wifi only isn't triggering the sso connection. Very odd and seems to have coincided with the daft globe reappearance!
-
Is that for the globe issue, or signing into 365? I know the smoothwall updated fairly recently
-
Hmm, this may be something wrong with our wifi. I've noticed anyone signing in over wifi now doesn't get signed in 365 automatically (either local apps or web) so something has broken on our wireless Odd thing is they can sign in manually OK, but this should be automatic when they open Word etc - worked last week so not sure if this is update related or something else
-
Nothing's changed, I can see traffic on our smoothwall hitting msftconnecttest and msftncsi.com as unauthenticated, and also its allowed on our firewall Its not consistent either, its affecting all of the wireless devices but not all the time - sometimes toggling the wifi on and off will resolve it but it varies
-
Have MS changed something that's brought that stupid 'no internet' globe symbol back? Its started to appear on just about all of our wireless devices They work fine, but we get calls saying there's no connection (even though it will work as normal when they try) Its such a useless thing to have on a domain, but I'm not sure why its suddenly come back?

There seems to to a bug with the Local Network settings in Privacy and Security in Sequoia - in there I have about 20 copies of Google Chrome (and a handful of copies of other apps, but only one of each) The problem is my Chrome will not allow me to access any IPs on my local network anymore - it doesn't matter whether Chrome is enabled in the Privacy section or not, I just get err_address_unreachable for anything like wireless APs, NAS boxes etc I can't remove any of these multiple Chromes either. There are some Apple docs about this but they're massively out of date and the tccutil reset doesn't work since Macos 15 either Anyone see this and found any workarounds, apart from ditching Chrome until they fix the issue!

Does anyone have any good experiences or recommendations of software for reading out text (which could be in a browser, Word, PDF etc)? We've tried the Windows built in Narrator but its terrible with PDFs and a bit clunky with Word. Ideally we just want something that will reliably read out a paragraph of highlighted text
-
We had a batch of these as well - we used a very basic Windows 11 image and 365 on them for exams only - they only upsides are that they're small and the battery is reasonable!

Well I've made some progress with this - it looks like the power policy (setting the display to sleep after x minutes) is now working and that does lock the workstation. This didn't work before and it looks like someone had previously created a partial power policy which never slept the screen and that took priority! I really need to tidy up the years of my predecessor policies! However the user policy just doesn't work at all - which is a shame as machine based works now, but is a bit more clunky to implement and of course doesn't follow the user around! Still experimenting though! It was working on W10 but I've decimated the W10 stock down to zero now :-)
-
This has got me baffled now, I've got this set in 3 places - Power policy to switch of the display after 5 minutes, the Interactive logon: Machine inactivity limit set to 5 mins and the user policy to run the screensaver after 5 mins and it never locks or switches off the display! I did wonder if I'd disabled a service that is needed but apart from the usual xbox rubbish I'm only disabled the UEV service (and we don't use UEV)
-
I doubt it, we have extensions blocked and it’s widespread affecting all users (separate policies for staff students and it staff)
-
All policies are applied (it’s a separate policy) and nothing seems to conflict I wonder if something else is stopping it, like Netsupport or Sophie. It used to work and I’m not sure when it stopped working, very weird!
-
That hasn't worked for me either - nothing seems to take any effect
-
Odd, tested using the Interactive Logon: Machine inactivity limit on some test PCs and it still doesn't lock! I set it to 5 minutes and even after several reboots it never locks Wonder if the whole thing is broken or something is preventing it from locking
-
Yeah I should have realised it wasn't working as the complaints about it locking whilst presenting had gone quiet It looks like its broken in Windows 11 , as least as far as user based GPO is concerned. I'll have to do some restructuring to apply it by machine instead
-
I'll give that a go cheers. Am I misremembering the old way used to work?
-
Has anyone else noticed their GPO that locks workstations after a set idle time not working anymore? We have the policy set in User GPO - in Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Personalization - Enable screen saver - Enabled - Password protect the screen saver - Enabled - Screen saver timeout - Enabled and set to 600 seconds What seems to happen is the screen saver tries to come on (screen blanks) and then reverts back to the desktop. I can replicate this by double clicking the default screen saver file C:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr and it does the same All Windows 11 - does it on 23H2 and 24H2 as well We just need the screens to lock, not actually enable a screensaver but this used to work?

Possible I suppose but knowing the teacher highly unlikey! When I tested with a blank login I received ads for Mercedes and then several videos later a dating site popped up!
