I'm pushing 49 and most men my age tend to go for something a bit sporty once the mortgage is paid off and the bratlings have left home. Me? I've just gone and purchased something I've wanted for a long time. A brand new Peugeot Partner 1.6 Diesel Van. I've always wanted a van. I don't care what people think. It's an ace bit of kit and for someone with a bit of an outdoor lifestyle at weekends and during the holidays it's perfect. All the gear gets stowed in the back and I can even fit my kayak inside along with a bike. Best vehicle I've ever purchased and Mrs.Tech_Guy loves it too.

I'm getting tired of constant problems with Microsoft Movie Maker. The students are pushing it to its limits. Literally. Is there a better free alternative out there that our students can use that is easy to learn and will enable them to use their Movie Maker derived content? Many thanks!

I recently attended an interview. Things were progressing smoothly until we came to the 'group role-playing session' section of the day.... There were half a dozen of us, and during the coffee break earlier we'd discussed what this session could possibly entail, and came to the conclusion it would be the usual 'support the difficult IT customer' type scenarios. How wrong we were. The session started. We had to stand in a circle, arms outstretched, and pretend that we were trees..... Not only 'pretend' that we were trees - we had to act like trees as well. At first we were willows, and we had to swish our arms around. Then we became oaks.....tall and strong..... At this point we were all looking for the hidden cameras and I made everyone laugh by saying I hoped we weren't horse chestnuts next as I might drop my conkers..... We then had to explain what trees we might be if we had a choice and why. I know what they were getting at with the session but what a stupid way of doing it! And for an IT job! I know now that if I ever audition for Playschool I've got a good chance! I'm not going to name the company interviewing as we had to sign a declaration at the start of the interview process that we would not 'disseminate any information regarding the interview process to third parties'...... Whoops.

Does anyone have an old copy of Norton Ghost? We're missing ghostcdr.dll from our installation even though it's supposed to be there. Not having it on our bootable pe sticks is stopping the Ghost plugin from working We have versions 2002 and 10 & 11 but no ghostcdr.dll in the installation directories. That's what I want to know as the machines in question are fully patched. On checking for updates yesterday there were none. I think somebody at Redmond has dropped the ball.

Anyone else having issues with the three security .Net framework Updates from MS? They install & loop - has MS messed up? KB2518864 KB2572073 KB2633880 You install and they appear for install again. On Windows XP boxes and Server 2003 Machines.
