Or rather, the minimum recommended engine size for towing something of that weight? I know kerb weight is the main factor but I was wondering about engine size. Used to use a 1.8 Mondeo with no problems but somebody told me I was pushing it?

Some reading here for you. Part-worns can be imported so you don't know their provenance. They can be taken from vehicles that have been in accidents. A friend who works in an MOT testing station says he'd never ever use part-worns and certainly wouldn't put a single one on a vehicle. Even as a temporary measure

Looking on the various forums, users are reporting heating if streaming / wifi / bluetooth / gps services are being used. Particularly if the phone is being charged at the same time. I have a HTC Desire and it gets really hot when I use BBC iPlayer over a wifi connection.
