At the moment, our staff are constantly complaining about IE crashing.... This has only started since we deployed PCE 3 here a couple of weeks ago. - We have not used any previous versions. We have all options turned off on on pce to do with internet logging. Any recommendations? Michael

Ok..... This problem seems to get weirder... Today no one can access their mac homefolder.... when we checked our sadmin account is no longer a admin on the server. Which means we can do nothing logged in as that account. All bindings between server and client were created with this sadmin account. We can log in as root and have tried to make the account an administrator again but it will not save the change. All this has been since 10.5.7.... Someone please help!!! Or does anyone know of any reliable Mac support companies in London? Cheers, Michael

Help Guy's.... This problems seems to have reared it's head again... Exactly the same as before, the boot volume fills completely up which stops Mac Homes from being able to view or save. But restarting the server frees up all the free space again, about 50Gb... Using houdini shows no huge files, i've searched everywhere....... Cheers, Michael

I have unlocked many 2 and 3G iphones over the last few months.. The 3G can be upgraded, but usually a couple of weeks after the official release when the iphone dev team have updated their software to allow you to upgrade with updating the baseband. With the terrific help I received earlier regarding Mac's - Thought that I would try to solve a couple of problems/irritations We only allow staff to access the internet on our Macs as students dont need internet access in their music lessons. Our registers are on E1 so they are all web based. Our smoothwall is using NTLM Authentication and has to stay as this for various reasons.... We have the smoothwall proxy settings applied to the staff preferences in Workgroup Manager and have the relevant exceptions also added. But they are still requested to input their credentials frequently when browsing using safari. I have installed Firefox and changed 'network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris' but they are still requested. Is NTLM Authentication still broken in safari on 10.5.6 and 5.7? Has anyone else got it working? either with safari or Firefox.. Cheers again........ Michael

Need your Mac Help again Guys.... Since upgrading our server to 10.5.7, the macs in the Music suite are having problems with Reason 4. When a student logs on and runs the program, it crashes and wants to send the report to Apple. In the crash log it mentions: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at (Random Hex) But if I log on as a local admin, and run Reason it loads fine. Have tried deleting the local profile, but still happens. Have not tried it with a Staff Logon, but assume it doesn't work aswell. Clients are 10.5.6, and it was working fine a couple of weeks ago, bit strange it has stopped on all the macs. Have tried updating them to 10.5.7 but still the same error. Cheers once again. Michael

Cheers Guy's... I'm getting closer...... I used a program called Houdini to view all hidden folders and found a 23Gb folder within usr/share/swupd/html/content/downloads/ but cannot delete them as I dont have permission. Anyone know how i can delete these as my google searches are comming up blank. So going to have look for advice from a Mac Guru... Can this path be changed as I dont want this to happen again? Thanks Dan, Just changed the location and it's now there, but when I run it it just closes it self. Nothing happens - Have tried to run the app from another volume and the same thing. Have tried it on another mac and it works fine. So must be to not having any space to create a temp file or something. Even more puzzled now Michael

It won't show my memory stick and i can't copy the file to it as it always wants to put it on the desktop during transferring using remote desktop - thats the volume that is full. : Dan, All the user's homefolders are saved to a different volume. Hi, Our 1 year old Mac Server on 10.5.7 is saying that the startup disk is full. Looking at the info for the drive it is displaying 0kb free, but highlighting all the files in finder and doing get info, only adds up to about 15GB. I found a article server-startup-disk-full but i'm lacking when it comes to mac.... Can anybody help? Regards, Michael

Hi Dan, Would it be OK to contact you sometime next week, to see if you can quote for us soon. We are looking at purchasing 200+ of the HP DC7900 USFF with the Integrated brackety thing with 17" TFT. It does have the mounting holes on the side as i'm using one now. I'm going to be needing a few quotes from suppliers as it's going to be over a £100,000 order. Michael

We have quite a few ghost images here, what could i do with them? Can they be deployed using FOG or would we have to regather them?

Cheers Ric.... Just checked the proxy Exception IP's list and realised that someone had removed a digit from this Servers IP. A quick change and a restart of the proxy, and a change in the config for promissor to port 801 and all solved. Who needs Tom. lol Michael
