+1 for these.... Just ordered another 2 today, to go with the other 15. Good battery life, good wireless signal, free 802.1x client that works great. Mike

We experience similar problems, but it happens to a whole suite. The whole suite will just power off at the same time, no messages alerting of a shutdown, and nothing in the console as to what's happened. We are beginning to think that its a power problem as it an older part of the school. Our electrical contractors are investigating. Mike

What about Forefront? We use it here with Exchange 2007, no problems, no virus so far... (touch wood) My boss has enabled SPF (?) think thats it.. and created a spam mailbox to check now and then. Just had to get a renewal for this year... £345 for us. Mike

Did you have to modify any GPO's? Active desktop? Currently we have a .bmp set as the wallpaper, but would like to have this. Can students close the active desktop? Thanks Mike

Hi, We have recently changed the homepage for the school, from our VLE to George Green's School, WIP at the Moment.... GPO's have been updated and PC's restarted, but when people open IE7 the homepage will not display on some machines. You can see it trying to access the site, but will not show unless you click the home button. Can anyone recommend anything? I found the thread on another forum, where someone has the same symptoms: Article Thanks Mike

We've never had to send any replacement parts back to HP or Dell, and have never been chased by them for payment. They always tell us to dispose of them, unless they contain any elements that cannot be binned or recycled. Mike

sorry was a bit lazy to check when i posted last. I've got it as a bookmark and should have checked before posting. Glad you've found it now. Michael

I would have recommend Xda-Developers.com before, but they don't have a dedicated section for the Omnia I900 as they are made by Samsung not HTC. Its great for finding help with general problems for WinMo Phones, but i9x0.modaco.com is the most active forum for Omnia owners and developers. Regards, Michael

:Little Miss This is usually down to the firmware adding +44 to the contact when you add it from a text message. Check the contact to see if it has, if so remove it and see if it still happens. :Simple Si I'm not an advanced user, of these phones. Just a keen beginner. The rom i have created is a non branded rom, without all the t-mobile crap. As thats what provider im with. You will be able to flash onto your phone, and go back to the original if you like. All you need is the update file you dl'ed from Vodafone. One thing to note is that you would need to be flashing from a XP machine, with the Samsung Modem drivers installed first. Michael

: Karl, Sorry for the late reply.. I was merely looking in to this for my colleagues who deal with the Frog side of things. Many thanks for the insight on things to come, hopefully he'll be able to accomplish it with the current version of Frog, otherwise we'll pop by at Bett to see the new version. Just a quick question.. Have you developed the crystal menu, with the option of a transparent background yet? We asked if this was possible many months ago, but never have had a definitive reply. : Zak, The one you linked to, does indeed look very nice, clean and simple.. I was creating our school site in Joomla as a side project, and my colleague was also developing a sharepoint solution, just to get a look at what can be done but we were both told to drop it and use Frog. I'm not so anti-Frog as i have been in previous topics, partially because now they have designers who are developing the look of it, as it should have been from the beginning.

Hi Simon, The specs were DC7800 USDT E8400 C2D 2G 160GB - Part Number KK247ET#ABU This was not a special build part number, We've bought these in the past from other suppliers at a higher price. Our normal suppliers who quote for us, were about £70 more per unit. Michael

I dont understand why people hate this phone??? How many key presses /slides /strokes does it take on other phones? Hold red button for two seconds to unlock, press the green button, dialer opens, dial 999.. no more than 5 seconds... I think it obvious that i like this phone. lol Mike

Slide your finger from the samsung logo to the middle of the screen to quickly open task switcher, click end all tasks to close all open programs, or close which ones you wish. You can regedit the default locations, but this can be a bit lengthy.. also sure you can change the location to default save all files through bluetooth, in the bluetooth settings. Change it from bluetooth FTP to My storage or Storage card. Mike.

: Si, How strange, i came from the MDA II also... i do miss the slide out kb, but my fingers are not too stubby for the touch screen, and i dont mind the stylus dangling from the side.. There should be a spare stylus in the box, is there not? The wheel is not needed on the omnia, as you can slide your finger from top to bottom to scroll up and down. I've customised my own rom over at modaco.com, here is the link to my topic Linkazoid Rom It's based on the DXHK3 Rom, which is a newer UK rom, which is most people preference for stability and speed. iGo 8 is quick to connect, 10 seconds to sat fix. Please read the linked topic, to see what i've done to the rom regarding removing and adding, i guarantee you wont be disappointed, or have a look at Taril's rom there, as other people seems to favor that. If you want any more help to make the phone useable, please let me know what i can do. Michael

We use them here occasionally.. Just last week we bought 19 HP DC7800 for £336 ea, our other suppliers all wanted to charge £400+. Great bargain..

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has anything that can help us. We want to have a virtual staff directory.. We want something that new staff can check to see who's in which perticular department and put a face to a person. Something that has staff picture and a short discription of each staff, would be an advantage if it was searchable. Can anyone recommend anything? We have Frog and E1 can we do anything with these? Michael

I can also recommed these.. i have 10 in the back office, and have another 5 coming tomorrow.
