Avast Free. For Home Use. Keeps you safe online... no good having other "Good" apps if your PC won't work in the first place due to viruses etc.

Ive also got A HP Smart Array P212... When I put it into a machine it comes up with the initializing stage but then stops at no IRQ or something.

Adaptec ASR-2405 - its not in a server, its in a desktop at the moment... Been into configuration and cant see an upgrade FW option... dont have a floppy drive either. My way around this way to use something like Hirens to boot into DOS - I ran then afu and acp program from adaptec which is used to flash the controller but I got "Failure - couldnt find controller".

Ive got an adaptec here that claims it can do 3TB with a firmware update... I just cannay figure out how to update it.

I'm at the moment just using Windows for mirroring... I used to have an application on an old Adaptec RAID card but it wont work now without the Adaptec card.

It works like this, any existing Users accounts on the C: drive will be picked up by Fabs AutoBackup... Then back it up. Go to new machine log on as user whoever and restore the profile. -
Me too, been a Linux admin a long time... I have to admit I've used Webmin and User\Domainmin. But ONLY ever internal... it never sees the internet. It can be as secure as you make it.. with security like SELinux and the firewall enabled I dont see a problem with using Webmin. Just don't open the port to see the outside world, and lock it down to only listen on a Local IP. - - - Updated - - - Nil Pois.

Hi all, I'm running server 2012 R2 on a couple of servers that are using Mirrored Disks (Software RAID). Does anyone know of any free or paid for software that will monitor the Mirrors and alert me of any errors ? Thanks in Advance.

Yes we use it for customers... we would backup the profiles from there old PC's and transfer it to a new one for them. Its a cheap program to buy too. Its cross platform too we've used it going from XP to 7 and 7 to 8.1.

Could make a default account, set it up how you want.... and then use this: Fab's Corner Fabs AutoTech backup - its not free but its a damn handy tool to have!! Once youve used this tool, to backup the user profile simply restore the profile to the machines... it will restore even the wallpaper that you have set.

You could put them in a server or PC and RAID them to make one big storage area or just as mirrored disks to transfer old Backups or images too etc.

Draytek ... or a Watchguard with PFsense on lol. Generally, Home routers have the same insides its how they are managed that makes the difference. I've found that some of the best routers have been Technicolor, TP-Link and Zyxel.

Netgear ReadyNAS are quite good I think you can get a home version too.. Although I tend to home brew my NAS Boxes these days.
