I'm struggling to find some settings in GP for IE8 How do I turn off suggested sites? How do I remove on the "Page" menu the section that is translate with windows live etc Also get this error: When the home page loads it says "A program has corrupted your default search provider set for IE". I have removed the search bar at the top so the pupils have to use the link to Google via the Intranet. Thanks

Hi, Just experimenting with the policies for IE8 and got 2 problems I can't find the answers to in GP. 1 - On loading IE it says "This add-on can cause IE to stop responding or crash". and the add on is "Drive Letter Access component". How do I allow this in GP? 2 - When the home page loads it says "A program has corrupted your default search provider set for IE". I have removed the search bar at the top so the pupils have to use the link to Google via the Intranet. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, Our school has just got back from a ski trip with lots of photos and mpg videos. I have tried with Movie Maker, Pinnicle Studio, and Vista DVD Maker to make a DVD to sell onto the kids but had different problems with each one. Any others you recommend thats easy to create a nice dvd for the kids. The videos are not long, just lots of short clips. Thanks

Sorted it. Removed Grub from both partitions. Thanks James
-
Got it to that point James but doing fix boot of windows doesn't seem to work. Just says missing operating system Might have to be a re install
-
Sorry James, How do I get onto the bit that says English Super Grub disk? It just says default and unetbootin at the top.
-
Right, Managed to get it to boot from usb. When it gets to the screen, it just says "Default" and trys to autoboot but it gets to 0 seconds then starts again at 10 seconds There is an option of press tab for options
-
Thanks James. I've downloaded the supergrub - extracted and copied the files to a usb key. When I try to boot from it it says "Remove disks or other media - press any key to restart"
-
I'm not sure. I've used fdisk to change the active partition. When I changed it to the C drive it just says missing operating sytem. I know the OS is still on there. I'm just copying WinXP onto a USB at the moment to see if I can use fixmbr to sort it.
-
What If I was to use FDisk and delete the remaining linux partition?
-
It would have to be a live USB as its a netbook so has no cd drive.
-
Ok, When I got my netbook I put Linux on it as well, so when you booted up, you got the option whether to boot xp or linux. Last night I got stick of selecting XP as I never use Linux. I went into Disk Managment and deleted the logical partiions that have Linux on them. XP kept working fine. When I restarted, It tries to boot into Linux and as It can't find it, it comes up with an error. The problem is that it doesn't boot to XP either . I know I haven't deleted C: so XP is still on there somewhere. I think the problem is that Linux was at the top of the boot list. I have tried pressing F8 to get a menu but it just goes to the error. Don't particular want to reinstall. Any ideas on how I can get to boot into XP Thanks

I got mine when I was at Bett. I remember the guy on the stand saying that we should give them good comments on Edugeek - how about NO. Told all the staff here and they all registered, none of them received one yet. Phoned them up the other week and told we would be placed on the priority list when the shipment comes from China. Doubt we will receive them though
-
No thats not the case They are all in the original folder she saved them in and the folder movie maker thinks they are in too.
-
Hi James The movie maker project has been made from photos and videos etc. Not sure how you can convert that before finishing the movie. I have tried other formats (video for lan etc) but still the same
-
A group of kids have been doing the OCR National unit on movie maker. When they come to save the movie it works fine for 99% of the kids. Got one girl who when she tries to finish the movie it says "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again." She has access to the saved location etc. Its only a 3 minute film. Tried to do the save to CD option but get the same message. Theres nothing in the movie to indicate a missing source file etc. Tried changing the computer to no paging file but still the same problem. Any ideas?

Yeah found that Steve but can't find the patch on the web.
-
Hi, On IE - you can click on links from the Joomla Intranet page to file:///server etc and they work fine. In Safari they are just not clickable - nothing happens. Any ideas ? Thanks

Does anyone know any free software to convert RealVideo files into either mpg or wmv that windows movie maker can support? THanks
