Hi, On our admin domain they have everything stored in their profiles. A user was having problems and logged onto her machine with a different username. Since then her font on desktop icons has changed - gone slightly italic. Is it best to delete profile or is there a setting ? I have checked the font in preferences and its the same as every other pc Thanks

Hi Is there a piece of software to password protect multiple files rather than doing them all individually. We are sending a CD to an advisor and could do to password protect the files. Can you password protect a folder on a cd?

We are getting a pupil with VI in September. It has been requested that he has a screen or laptop in a lesson, and whatever is on the smartboard is displayed on his screen. Is this even possible ? He will be moving round classrooms Thanks

Thanks. No, i've set it with a static IP Address and its still the same. Aparently its the same at his house. The lights on the network card are 1 solid orange and 1 flashing yellow

Hi, Someone has brought me there laptop today from home saying it won't connect to the internet. When I've had a look no matter if i use the network cable or wireless it always gets a 169 address. I know the school network is running fine. IP Address is set to auto. Its vista. Any ideas ? Thanks

Hi, We currently have Winsuite running our policies in school - don't ask !! I am looking to remove it - we are going to upgrade the server to 2008 and its not compatible. For group policy - is it a case of going through everything one at a time or can someone send me a policy template for staff and pupils ? I know every school is different but it would be nice not having to start from scratch Thanks

We don't allow facebook in school but a few kids have iPhones etc. There is no email address on the profile - I have contacted facebook but they haven't replied yet. An email address would give it away.

One of our pupils has had someone create a facebook page in her name - with date of birth etc. She is very upset by this (she doesn't even have her own legit page). I know its a pupil from the school. I have emailed [email protected]. Is there any way to find out who has created it? Obviously facebook will take it down but I would like to find out who it was.

Hi, I have created a table with firstname and surname and sorted the table by surname When I create the form I sorts the data by surname but when I add data into the table and go back to the form, its not ordered Is there a way to sort the data by surname in the form without recreating the form everytime. I agree fella. In a way its good to be able to choose ISP Etc but if your tied to a county that could also be good. We pay £1700 a year for Redstone for everything. Exa Networks looked good - offer a no contention ratio package but only offer 4Mb - not quick enough for a school really. Talktalk offer LLU in the area and can do upto 11.1 meg on that line. I could always do it seperate - just go for a seperate filtering company and seperate email hosting but i'd rather have all in 1.

There's no money for exchange and own filtering really. We're a small private school so easier to get an all in one system really.

Does anyone know of companies that do ISP, Filtering and Email hosting. We are currently with Redstone but are moving in the summer. Looked at Exa Networks. Are there any others ? Thanks

Thats true. We don't need to record times, just log in school or not. We just tick on a piece of paper at the moment.

Does anyone use an electronic sign in system for staff? I'm thinking of getting one for reception. And when staff come in on a morning they just click / touch there name on the screen and it logs them in. Doesn't need to log time etc/ Just wether they are in school or not.

A friend of mine wants to upgrade his router at home He needs to be able to connect 6 devices via wireless to it - sometimes at the same time. The one he has keeps dropping the wifi connection to the xbox etc. Don't think any of his devices are N standard What do you recommend as a good reliable router than can cope with all these devices?
