  1. No. That is my point. There may be disagreements with that view but to me it's valid.
  2. "A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need." I HAVE to see this!
  3. Yep, that works too.
  4. NET USE S: /d /y
  5. I had this last week after moving our staff shared area. It was cached in the users profile. Deleted, logged back on, all good!

  7. Haha, exactly what you just described, see: The Island (2005 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  8. Haha, imagine that! Imagine showing Einstein an iPad, the ISS, an Airbus. Brilliant!
  9. Inevitably I think it will transpire that they want to start cloning Humans.. How do people feel about that?
  10. Same, I can see why people want to do it and I also think that its an amazing feat of science but call me old school, I don't think it is morally acceptable.
  11. I'm afraid I don't know from there Alex as I use mandatory for all users here. Sorry. EDIT: All I can suggest is, login on a different PC, if her drive maps then there's nothing funny going on with the mapping side of things.

  15. Are you able to browse to the UNC path? \\server\shd\staff\user for example. Not appearing in my computer would imply to me that its not been mapped correctly.
  16. I'm curious to know what peoples thoughts are on the recent cloning thing going on? Rebecca Smith: Why I became owner of Britain's first cloned dog - Rebecca Smith - Mirror Online Channel 4 follows competition to give a dog a clone - Channel 4 - Info - Press Personally I think it is wrong but would like to get everyone's views Matt
  17. Did you delete the folder or the file?
  18. Well.. I. I didn't know you felt that way! LOL. Now install File Server Resource Manager in Server Manager and set it to block desktop.ini. Job done.
  19. Delete them all then refresh the folder (F5). "My Documents" should be gone. It will be recreated when you log back on as that user. You can then use FSRM to block that file.
  20. ^ That is what I meant
  21. It's normally a hidden file. Do a search of the share for *.ini and see what turns up.
  22. Have you set read only perms on desktop.ini?
  23. I run a VM on virtualbox on my laptop. It works.
  24. set the permissions on the desktop.ini to read only?
