Thanks for the reply. While looking through the rules I found the cause of the problem. I needed to put an exception in the web chaining rule to stop local requests being sent to the EMBC proxy.

I've got a server 2003 box running ISA 2006 which when browsing the internal network i.e. a printer, results in the request being sent to the internet so giving an error. Internet browsing works ok and IE settings are correct so I'm assuming ISA is configured incorrectly. This only affects the ISA box; all other machines on the network can browse the printer as expected.

I did a test before I went home tonight and the internet works fine when KDC service is stopped.

The server does have internet access. I'll do the test again and this time test the internet when KDC is down.

Thanks for the advice guys... it worked fine. The server stayed up and the worst I got was an event log showing one of the PSU's went down for a few seconds. All in all a good outcome

We're got a smart UPS 1500 that has gone faulty and is feeding a Dell 2900 with redundant power supplies. I've changed the battery in this UPS before so this time I'm just going to swap the UPS for a new one. Without powering down the server can I take one of the power leads from the old UPS and connect it to the new UPS then connect the other power lead?

KDC took 90 seconds to restart. I see from the event log that while KDC was restarting there were a number of crypt32 errors event ID 8 All updates are done via WSUS on server B

I've got a problem with the Kerberos service on a server 2003 box that I don't know how to fix When the server is restarted it's taking a very long time before the logon box appears and I'm getting errors about the kerberos service hanging. Here is the time line from the event log: 8:34 event log started 8:38 kerberos key distribution centre hung on startup 8:53 Application popup warning about service not starting 8:56 kerberos key distribution centre starts There are two servers (server A and server B) and it's server A with the problem. I've run dcdiag on both servers and it reports no problem but netdiag on server A reports “kerberos does not have a ticket for host”.

I would have thought if Capita is supporting Win 7 then they should also support r2 as they are both closely related.

Anyone know when Capita will be supporting R2? I'm planning to move Sims and would like it supported before the move.

Funny you should say that because the designers are a drama group . They have worked in schools for a number of years and last year they made a fake alien crash landing site and getting the kids to write stories about it. I had a chat with the designers and they agreed to remove a number of things the 'robot' could do, so now all they want is: record a pupil talking and play it back with the voice changed using some sort of speed/pitch changing software record video and sound from the webcam and be able to play it back

A group of helpers wants to build a robot for the school and they have asked for my help. To be honest when I first heard of this I thought the robot would be a walking model but no, nothing like that, and I'm not sure how to describe what the school will get so here's what info I've got so far. .
