I've never fitted ultra short projectors before. Are they anymore difficult to fit than short throw?

We've been given a few second hand smart S680 and SB660 (77" and 64") boards and we're looking at installing a couple over the summer. I would like to use a casio projector owing to the low maintenance and long life but I'm not sure which model would be best suited. As we are fitting the board and projector ourselves should we would be looking at the short or ultra short throw models?

So I've put the Kindle app on 30 iPads but all give the error 'Device Registration Failed. The operation couldn't be completed. (HTTPErrorCode error 401.)' I've called Amazon support who say they haven't see this error before which I find very odd and when asked what port the app uses they didn't know. I'm thinking the firewall or filter is blocking the app talking to Amazon. Has anyone seen this error before or know what might be causing it?

BA has problems copying permissions as I have found myself. I use a Buffalo NAS and have to keep the copy permissions option in BA turned off because the Buffalo is running Linux.

I've started getting the windows security warning when copying or moving files from my desktop to another hard drive. Even copying jpg's give the warning and I think it all started when I installed IE11 but apart from the above IE11 is working fine. Any advice please?

Over half term I updated them using Apple Configurator to 7.1.1 and it went surprizing well but I’m now finding that they are having problems connecting to the internet and indeed to the wireless network. On the iPads that do connect I am getting a popup that tries to connect to different sites and so far I’ve had airport.us, itools.info and thinkdifferent.us but as we are behind the Openhive proxy these sites as blocked as classed as sales so I get the block page instead. Google tells me this is something to do with a captive portal but it has rendered the ipads useless

As my schools use win7 pro which doesn't have bitlocker how would I go about installing it? Is it just a licence key change to upgrade the machine to enterprise edition or would it involve a complete new install?

Yes the roadmap on Supportnet doesn't list IE11 and our LA doesn't have a date when it will be supported either. I rarely use Sims apart from running an export of student names from time to time but can't see a reason why Sims would break if I installed IE11.

Anyone got IE 11 working with Sims as my schools are still running IE 9 and I'm looking to upgrade over the summer but don't want to break Sims.

What length of time will this program be available for?

I've started configurator again and it looks like it's running ok so far.

25 ipad mini's in 3 X griffin multidock. So I'm setting up these ipads mini's using apple configurator. Did a single at ipad first which worked fine. Tuesday I started with the remaining ipads using the multidoc but it hadn't finished preparing by the end of the day so I left it running. Came back today and it's still installing ios 7.1 so I pressed cancel and although configurator says it's cancelling it shows no sign of stopping. I unplugged 1 ipad and it shows the word iTunes with a picture of a cable. Looking at the remaining ipads this same itune message appears on a handful of other ipads as well. What can I do to fix this mess? Thanks

We have a different icon for each network drive. Isn't the iso pretty much useless without the product key? From what I remember you only get 3 days to activate before windows becomes useless (mind you some people think windows is useless even after activation!)

Yes we are looking at the 3 X 10 bay Griffin Mulitdock as it will fit on the bench we have and didn't want a trolley type as no room for it.

Looks like the Griffin MultiDock will take the iPads and cases

Thanks. Just had a look at the iPads and they would need a 25mm wide space so that rules out the Kensington but I don't fancy syncing iPads one at a time

The HT already has it in his office on the old system and we've had the police in looking at the recording after a parent was abusive. Sort of worked when the police heard the language the parent was using.

Yes I've read that document. I don't know why the HT wants it he just does and makes my life hard

As long as there are signs saying you are recording sound it's ok.

We're looking at installing a new CCTV system in the summer and HT would like a room fitting with 2 cameras and sound recording. The room is quite small 4m X 3m but has a high ceiling so would expect the camera to be wall mounted. We currently have an analogue 16 camera system which is 10 or more years old and it really is pants so will be ripping that out and fitting a new IP system with a few more cameras. In this room it is very important sound is recorded clearly so want something that won't let us down and I expect getting the mic close enough to record clearly will be the biggest problem.
