I'm going to leave the Administrator account enabled and keep managing the password with LAPS. Funny thing is when I tried to make a new user with GPP I couldn't as when I set the action to 'Create' the rest of the input fields are greyed out. I seem to recall a few years ago MS removed the ability to set passwords using GPP so that could be why I'm unable to create users too.

I'm using LAPS to change the password but I wanted to setup a new admin account so it has a different GUID.

I got it working by following this guide https://ourcloudnetwork.com/how-to-setup-windows-laps-step-by-step/ but I didn't have the old LAPS running which may have helped.

What is the recommended way to create a new local admin user account on mass as I wish to disable the built-in Administrator account and create a new admin account but although I can use GP to disable the Administrator account I cannot see an easy way to make new accounts using GP. Thanks guys. It's a primary but most of the switches are running at 1G. The cabling is cat5e with newer runs cat6 but there's not much of it so I don't feel we would get the most out of the Enterprise APs unless the switches and cabling are upgraded too. Is the coverage similar with either the U6-Pro and U6-Enterprise to the old Ruckus APs so I can swap them out easily without needing to add more?

We're running a mix of Unifi UAP-AC-Pro APs with the controller running on a VM and a very old Ruckus ZD1106 with zf7372 APs. As there is money left in the budget I would like to remove the Ruckus and replace it with Unifi but I see the AC Pro has been superseded by wifi 6. What Unifi APs are recommended to replace the Ruckus APs and cover the same area? Thanks

Yes that's a point I had forgotten about. We have a UST in the other hall and as the board is slightly bowed we get a poor image. I have been looking at the NEC P605UL mainly because they make a big thing about it being maintenance free for the 20000 hours life of the projector and is a similar price to the ViewSonic LS850WU but either projector would fit.

There's been a few posts about what projector or screen to use in a large hall but I didn't want to hijack another thread and this one could be quite interesting. So to start with this is a primary that's 150 years old with gothic style features. The current projector is an old Casio XJ-V10X and is so dim you can hardly see the image. The screen width is 2.4m 4:3. The main problem I'm having is deciding if I should replace the projector on the pole or fit an UST above the screen. If it go with the pole I can get a bright projector but the projector is 3.5m from the floor and hangs on a 2m pole so I'll need tower scaffolding for fitting and maintenance would be a nightmare too. As you can see in the photos nothing gets cleaned up there as it's so high!

We are using a VoIP hosted system from Orbtalk and are looking for an app we can use on a mobile to connect to the Orbtalk VoIP via our wifi. There's plenty of apps available but thought I would ask here first for recommendations or which apps to avoid? Thanks.

I've been looking at the KMS server and using the command 'cscript slmgr.vbs /dlv all' gives me 16 entries for Windows Server, using Application ID 55c92734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f, 15 unlicensed and 1 licensed. The licensed entry has the correct partial product key so that's the only one I need. I don't know why there are that many as the KMS server isn't that old but I have added new keys without removing the old key first which has compounded the problem. How would I go about removing the unneeded entries or should I leave well alone? My first thought was to use cscript slmgr.vbs /upk 55c92734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f which I expect would remove all the entries for Windows Server and and then I can add the key again. Thoughts please?

Thanks everyone. The machines are indeed under warranty and VeryPC support have offered to send some fans out. Of the machines I've checked it's the case fan that is noisy. The CPU fan looks like a quality Intel fan so should last years but the case fan doesn't have any marking on that I can see so guess it's a cheap and cheerful generic fan.

Yes that interesting as they are Flex machines, so guess they had a bad batch of CPU fans. Funny enough I emailed VeryPC support about it last week but not heard anything back, bet if I asked for a quote for new machines I would have got a reply by return! Glad to hear fan replacement is an easy fix as didn't fancy sending the machines back for repair.

In summer 2020 we fitted out our suite with 32 new desktops from VeryPC. They have worked great and are super fast but over the last few months some have started making a noise when first switched on. Those that are noisy normally go quite once the machine has warmed up but one machine will constantly be noisy unless it's powered off and back on again. I've not looked inside the machines but it sounds like the CPU fan is worn and catching. What level of noise is considered acceptable and should I be concerned as I'm sure the other machines will go the same way?

Thanks for the info. I had an old display port to HDMI knocking about which I didn't think would help as his PC is using a dedicated video card but to my surprise it worked. The display ratio was different on the TV as his monitors are the old 5:4 but the TV setting allowed the image to be resized so job done. Thanks again.

Head has 3 vga monitors and has asked about connecting a TV to mirror middle monitor. TV uses HDMI with no VGA connection. Is there anything cheap that would do this?

So just a quick update and I'm after a little more advice please. I've moved DNS to Cloudflare, and the website it hosted with Primarysite and it's all working well. I've been in contact with Cloudflare and they do not accept .sch.uk domains but I seem to be going round the houses with Nominet. They will accept .sch.uk domains but I can't get a straight answer from them about how to set the name servers to point our domain to Cloudflare DNS. I thought it was as simple setting once registered but I'm starting question myself. I got this from Nominet I understand Nominet do not provide hosting and I already explained to them we were using Primarysite for this anyway so is it as simple as making the request and asking them to set the name servers on our domain to point to Cloudflare?

Arrived at school this morning to find Google throwing a cert error but strangely Youtube seems ok although it does say Youtube is not fully secure. We are using Eset AV and Sophos for the web filter. From the first image it appears the Eset cert has expired but on the Eset console I can't see anything wrong? This error seems only to affect sites run by Google as all the other sites the schools uses are unaffected i.e. Purple Mash, TT Rockstars show no SSL errors at all Any advice please?
