Hmm if it's the one I'm thinking of you cant. Best way is to hide the network link so they cant get to search AD by using the adm file provided here CLASS MACHINE CATEGORY "Windows 7 Explorer Navigation Items" POLICY "Hide Libraries" KEYNAME "Software\Classes\CLSID\{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}\ShellFolder" VALUENAME Attributes VALUEON NUMERIC 2962227469 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 2961178893 END POLICY POLICY "Hide Homegroup" KEYNAME "Software\Classes\CLSID\{B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}\ShellFolder" VALUENAME Attributes VALUEON NUMERIC 2962489612 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 2961441036 END POLICY POLICY "Hide Networking" KEYNAME "Software\Classes\CLSID\{F02C1A0D-BE21-4350-88B0-7367FC96EF3C}\ShellFolder" VALUENAME Attributes VALUEON NUMERIC 2962489444 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 2953052260 END POLICY POLICY "Hide Computer" KEYNAME "Software\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\ShellFolder" VALUENAME Attributes VALUEON NUMERIC 2962489612 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 2961441036 END POLICY POLICY "Hide Favourites" KEYNAME "Software\Classes\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\ShellFolder" VALUENAME Attributes VALUEON NUMERIC 2839544064 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 2693792000 END POLICY POLICY "Hide Control Panel" KEYNAME "Software\Classes\CLSID\{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}\ShellFolder" VALUENAME Attributes VALUEON NUMERIC 2693791748 VALUEOFF NUMERIC 2684354564 END POLICY END CATEGORY; Credit to http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-7/46809-windows-7-removing-libraries.html#post430548 -

Do you mean the 'network' location on the left when you click 'Computer' which then has the option to search AD? -
Cant wait ! This show is awsome and hope the 2nd season is as good as the 1st.

I have this disabled. Fairly sure I only created a path/hash rule using software restrictions as well and it does the job Let me check. Edit Ok I only have a hash rule to block helppane.exe and winhlp32.exe If I remember correctly when creating the hash rules I had to copy winhelp and helpane from a client and set the hash rule on them because when pointing it to the one on the server it didn’t work. Hope that makes sense.

I wouldnt say it's trying to replace the current kindle. Amazon have released a new E-Ink kindle and the Fire.
-
I dont want it for just reading books:) Books, movies, music, web browse and apps. I want all and think it's well priced. Just hope they make available in the UK soon.
-
Apparently the Kindle fire wont work in the UK Because the amazon cloud thing is only currently available in USA and thats the reason the Fire is only being sold there for now, so untill that services becomes available in the UK users who buy the Kindle fire wont be able to use alot of the features. Sucks !
-
Nice. Hope some where that sells can deliver them to the UK. Dont want to wait for the UK release considering they've not accounced a UK date yet.
-
Do you charge these through your computer via usb or a power socket? I want to grab one of these when they are released in the USA but If they use a power socket they would have the 2 pin instead of 3.

AMDs FX-8150 "Bulldozer" Processor - The reviews are out!
ihaveaproblem replied to Arthur's topic in Hardware
Why don’t they design their CPU's to work with the latest and greatest OS then, which currently is Windows 7. By the time Windows 8 comes out Intel would of released the new generation Ivory bridge CPU's and AMD will be left behind once again. AMD - Excuses, excuses and a big disapointment after all the delays and hype. -
Until they post scientific evidence all I can say is stupid lady and stupid newspaper for reporting such crap

Remove repair mode when Win 7 client powered down badly
ihaveaproblem replied to ihaveaproblem's topic in Windows 7
Nice. Was easier than I thought. This should work fine as a computer startup script in group policy? ( Prefer to set as computer than user if can ) -
When someone forces power off or a computer crashes on windows 7 you get the two options during boot up of repair mode or start windows normally. The default option selected is repair mode. Is it possible to change the default option or completely remove the option for repair mode? Quite often get kids saying a laptop is broken and it's just booted into repair mode. Thanks

looks nice but would this still be accessable if you were blocking the youtube domain as it's on the same. -
I want one ! I want one! maybe even two please When are they released in UK or if never any USA edufriend fancy helping me out
-
I think I get this on a few programs and it's because the default location to save is a location the user doesn’t have permission to save at. Not sure how to remove the message, but on some programs you can change the default save location.

When this happens does it affect all clients in the room or just few/random ones? If you log the user off and login as yourself can you connect to the internet? I'd run ipconfig /all and check the configuration is correct and try to ping a server and the outside world such as a website. I was thinking the client is losing its IP address and then fixing it's self when you unplug/plug the network lead, however if you can still access internal network resources the IP address should be fine. Are you behind a proxy? You could check the proxy settings are correct in internet options. Also is this problem only occurring in one specific room? (Maybe a switch related problem) Lastly... Of course report the problem following the proper procedure set at your school, but tell your NM how badly this is effecting your lessons and it needs to be looked into ASAP! If he shrugs his shoulders and not willing to help report it to his line manager as he is not doing his job!

yeah i'd still go with intel:)

Might be talking trash here... but I thought I saw a few reports saying AMD CPU's where performing better on BF3? Don’t quote me on this.. I’ll go dig some research to see if this is true or if I’m remembering something false:) What GFX card have you got? I'd try to get 6 GB RAM or more because for me BF3 was very close to using 4gb. Oh, and what’s your OS and reso you play at?
