I also have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It was my first smartphone (The phone I had previously was some 5 year old brick that did nothing much apart from calls and texts) I was a little concerned over the size of the phone before I ordered, however I've grown to love it. For a lady or even a man with small hands the phone may be a bit too big, but for me it’s fine. It's light and feels good in your hands to hold, and I don't really notice that it's in my pocket. The screen is excellent and I really love it. Having a big screen and running at 720p reso it's very easy to navigate and good for watching movies etc. Older androids might of had these features...I’m not sure, but I like how everything syncs. My bookmarks sync with Google Chrome which is what I like the most, and then the same with contacts, photos and other stuff that I forget. Battery life seems good to me. Currently my phone has been running on battery for 9 hours and it's at 65% battery capacity, although I haven’t done anything too taxing on the phone, just emails, sms, web browsing and playing with a few apps. Still seems fine to me. The people's app on ICS is nice because it has all your contacts and then you can select the contact and swipe across to see twitter updates etc. from that contact. I like the phone lots and could say lots more about it. I'm happy to try answer any questions and test stuff out if you need as well. Only minor complaint might be the sound. At times it feels like the sound could be a little louder but can’t because it's already on max. My contract is with T- Mobile Length = 18 months @ £25 per month Minutes = 300 Text = 300 Internet = Unlimited It cost me £159 for the handset with £30 cashback, so over the 18 months it costs me £579 including the price of the phone.

Thanks. Was looking on how to get this setup. I wonder if embc web filtering can achieve this. -
Anyone heard anything about the Galaxy S3?
ihaveaproblem replied to north-ict's topic in General Chat
Yeah the S2 has a super amoled Plus screen and runs at 800x420 resolution. No idea what the S1 has, but the Galaxy Nexus has a super amoled screen ( No plus ) running and 1280x720 reso. I've heard the S3 will bring the best from both of the phones, so a Super amoled plus screen running at 1280x720 -
[layout issue] Mobile theme layout problem - ICS
ihaveaproblem replied to ihaveaproblem's topic in EduGeek.net Site Problems
Sorry for rubbish post above. I was trying to write it on my phone last night and kept running into problems and then just went sleep. Problems are as follows I have Samsung galaxy nexus running android 4.0 1) Mobile theme won’t allow me to make posts. I write the message in the box and when I click submit it's as if the page refreshes because my message disappears and hasn’t been posted 2) Sometimes when I am browsing a forum section (Example, Windows 7 Section) then press the back button to get back to the main forum section the layout goes odd. I can still see some of the forum posts from the section I just exited mixed up in the main forum sections. Hope that makes sense. I will try to explain better if you need more info. -
Just downloaded ^^ Anyone know a name of an app that does barcode scanning, QR codes and all that + an option to scan barcodes and save in a spreadsheet/text file?

i got colour note. Didnt like evernote much as it required an account. Do any of you use something like the activedir app to reset passwords and stuff when your outside the office and been chased down.

Might buy spirit^^ I downloaded shazam. That will be handy because often I hear a song and think "what's this called" Still looking for a nice simple notes app. Just want basic note and voice note. Most seem to be packed with features I don't need. Is there a good app for connecting to shares on servers and printers?

Hi, Can anyone advice on what RAM to get for a HP ProLiant DL 380 G6 server ? Wondering what other people use in their servers? ECC? Buffered? I have @Millgate waiting for me to say what RAM I want to buy, but struggling to pick. Want to to get 4gb DIMS and according to the server specs they need to be 1333mhz. I cant seem to find out if the server uses double or triple channel and a little unsure if this effects what RAM I can buy? Also, do you buy specifically labelled server ram for your servers or standard desktop ram? Server RAM is 2 or 3 times more expensive, but I guess that's because it has ECC and buffered. Thanks

Is the server down? I tried to get on earlier and got an error.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Open With delete that registry entry. You can push this out using GPP if it needs doing on a lot of computers.

Roaming Profiles or Not Roaming Profiles
ihaveaproblem replied to jaroslaw's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Previously had roaming profiles, now local with desktop and start-menu redirection for students Personally I didn't like roaming profiles much and thought they caused more trouble than good. I don't think teachers need roaming profiles either. Situation here means all teaching staff have a laptop and only use that, so a roaming profile isn't of much use. -
Schema is there. Looked on the dc and here is a screenshot of what I see Already ran "cscript Add-TPMSelfWriteACE.vbs" a few times and said it was succesful OU structure is similar to this. Domain --- Managed Computers --- Student ----Staff -- Laptop -- Desktop I've delegated the permissions on the managed computers OU to give the permissions for "msTPM-OwnerInformation" to 'SELF'( OU's below inherit this permission, however if I check computer objects they don't and I have to manually add the permission ) GPO is applied to the Managed Computers OU and computers are getting the settings. GPRESULT has been ran to confirm this + If I change a bitlocker setting and run GPUPDATE the change takes effect. If I remove the policy forcing the recovery keys to be backed up to AD I get no errors, but then of course AD is not backing these up.

Sorry for triple post.. The same problem occurs if I try to encrypt a USB drive. I enter a password for the drive, and then it moves on and asks me to start encrypting. I tell it to start and then it looks as if it's going to run, but then gives access is denied. In event viewer I get the exact same log about failing to backup to AD. It must be that AD isn’t configured correctly to accept backups? I really don’t know why though as I’ve done everything it says in the instructions.

These are the two errors from event viewer event id 24624 event id 514

Thanks all. Laptop has the partition I beleive. The hard drive has two paritions, the small 100mb system reserved partition and then the main parition ( The default windows 7 makes when formating ) Laptop has a TPM module and it's enabled. One of the first steps during the bitlocker process I get asked to reboot and then it gives me a message saying 'press f10 to enable TPM" GPO has applied correctly, and also the user account i'm using is a member of the domain admins. All security groups look correct to me. I did try using wired instead of wireless, but again, unfortuantly no luck. The errors I get from are event viewer, i'll check them again to make sure the one I posted last night was correct
