Hi, Should I be able to use live@edu SMTP server settings for email notifications from stuff such as WSUS, Backups, file servers etc? If yes, how? For example I'm trying to set up WSUS email report notifications and I've entered the SMTP server settings provided to me from outlook.com, but when I test the settings in WSUS it fails. Is this not possible with live@edu or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Thanks both. Both those methods don't give you a simple button like IE does though. I don't like the spanner method because it requires to many clicks ( Lazy I know ) Having the 'Display bookmarks bar' is ok..but then you have an extra bar constantly below the URL bar, which takes up viewing space .. Yeh I know.. I'm awkward. I like the simple way IE has of accessing bookmarks, and the Chrome extension I had did exactly the same, but now it's not available and was hoping someone knew of a similar extension.

Can anyone suggest an extension to get a bookmarks menu drop down like you get with IE please. I find it really annoying that Chrome doesn't have this build straight into the browser. The extension I was using doesn't seem to be available any more and I'm struggle to find a new decent one.

Nope. Is new and cheaper ! I thought they would be out soon in the UK because thought it was already released in the US since amazon.com are already selling. Does amazon.com deliver to the UK? Hi, Sorry for being so slow at replying. I kept meaning to post back here for the last week and a 1/2 ! Yes I have this working now. Microsoft support have been very helpful. Microsoft's instructions were near enough the same as yours. The only difference I can see is in their instructions they have it setup for "MailBox" instead of "MailUser" It seems to work using both methods so not sure if it makes much difference to which you use. The only thing I'm trying to do now is stop users from changing their display picture. I don't mind people turning it off, but would like them not to be able to change their picture back to Justin Bieber!

You cant add win 7 64 bit drivers to server 2003? Even if add it as an additional driver? Didn't know that.

What OS are your client machines on? You can download drivers here for one of the model printers you mentioned Software & Driver Downloads HP Officejet Pro K5400n Printer - HP technical support (United Kingdom - English) Download the driver for the correct OS which your client machines use and then use that as the driver when sharing the printer on the server.

Still in progress. I've got a support ticket open with the live@edu team at the moment and the people from that blog are helping ( They required me to open a support ticket for them to help ) so hopefully should be sorted in the next day or two. I shell report back with the results.

Might be called bridged mode Sounds about right ^^ We have some printers on laptop trolleys that don't have wifi so they plug into a ap to make them wifi and access to the network I thought our ap's had a different name for it than bridged. Anyways this will work for your setup

Has the user changed their password? What OS and version of outlook are you using?

I've forgot the proper name for it.. however, plug the cctv into a wireless AP via ethernet and then the AP connects to your wireless network giving the cctv network access. The mode you put the AP in has a proper name... I just cant think of it right now. Sure someone will say.

Yep, already have olsync setup to create accounts and sync passwords from AD. Just dont understand how to configure olsync to also sync the thumbnailphoto.

ok so I managed to get the thumbnailPhoto atrribute populated by running this command on a test user from the link above. I dont understand how to configure olsync to sync this to live@edu. Can anyone help with that please?

There should be 3 groups in the console called Internet disabled, screens locked and printing disabled. From there you can see who's been blocked:)

Thanks. So this is a new update or something? Not been using live@edu for long so I just thought the display picture had always been there. Can I read bout this 14.16 update some where? As for forcing themes. I can see where your coming from, but when you spend the time and effort to personalize a theme with school branding etc it's nice to be able make users use that. Just like a desktop back ground on a computer. Alot of places create a school background and dont allow users to change it because it looks more professional etc. Also students having the option to change themes causes distractions in lessons here Kids like to fiddle !

bump, anyone know? Whilst I'm at it as well. is it possible to remove themes? We have our own theme setup but users can still change to the default Microsoft ones. Can these be removed some how?
