8O ALl this time Ive been cleaning our 30 odd projectors and I might not have been covered against injury? Ive never thought about that. Our headteacher does everything by the book. Maybe its time I did too. Just been along to the Bursar. Im not doing any more High Level work unless Im covered!

The laptops I have given out are "Romaing workstations" and so are literally the same as their classroom workstations. I given them temporaty admin rights ONLY for if they want to add their home wireless connection into Control Panel or want to install their home printer. Some staff have complained that they cant do things but I just remind them that the statement they signed states that they will not use their laptop as a personal computer and that its illegal for staff to install stuff that they did not purchase!

Hi there, I had the same problem with two of my Magicolour printers after the school holidays. I fixed the issue by changing the printer to point to the LPT port (so I could delete the IP address port) and then recreating the printers TCP\IP port. When I recreated the port instead of using "Generic Network Port" in the list I chose a Magicolour driver. Hope this helps.

I surely hope that that advertisement shows the actual wage and not the wage that is being offered before pro rata! Otherwise whoever gets that 37 hour a week job will only bring home about £7,000 a year! You can earn more than that being a cleaner or shop worker. Where is the incentive to learn and get a repectful responsible job?

I work in a primary school. Children have 30-50MB, Staff have 150MB. I have never given anyone more space or any exception to this rule. I have told staff who have asked for more space that there isnt room on the backup tape/server. I tell them to clear out stuff they dont need or to archive their files to flash memory stick or their home computer. They soon get the message.

Hi all, Our school management are becoming increasingly concerned about security when it comes to staff files and data protection. A few staff have lost their keys and questions have been raised about confidential data that was on them. What do other schools do as a standard easy way to password or otherwise protect data? Do you have a policy or guidance on it?
