Watched the SoundCloud demo last week and was very impressed and they are offering a 30 day free trial at the minute. My preferred method is through MS Teams (we use it for everything else with staff), but the idea of teachers manually adding all their appointments is just too big a job. I have thought about using Microsoft Bookings for this and it automatically sets up the calendared event in Teams. Sounds perfect. Anyone tried it? Also a bit worried about have 50-odd staff in school running a virtual video parents evening and if our bandwidth can handle it. Think we might send staff home to do it and only have staff in who haven't got the kit. What are everyone's thoughts on bandwidth?

Good afternoon all, I've got an issue in SIMs. With the split lunches and breaks that we have had since COVID, I have had to force some clashes in Nova where some staff are teaching in, say, period 2 but also have a break duty. This has all been done in Nova and appears beautifully as a red clash in the SIMs timeline on the homepage as red boxes showing the clash between lesson and duty. I want this and am happy with it as it remind staff when they taking their register for the lesson that when these kids go on break, they are on duty. I'm getting the little red box 2 in the SIMs timetable showing the clash in that period. My problem is when staff print their timetable, it shows the duty. I would prefer it to show the lesson. Is there any way in SIMs (or Nova) that I can set this in some sort of print settings? Thanks in advance

We have been using SIMs profiles for a year now and whilst elements of it are clunky it has generally worked well. However, having had a number of staff complete their reports we are now in the process of generating the reports. The Word xml template is, effectively, the same as last year; yet, we have a key error. Namely, reports are being part of the merge that the pupils don't study - all it is pulling across is their name and form. Profiles ignored these last year, and moved onto the subjects that were completed in Profiles. We cannot find a facility to enable/disable this. It is merging all subjects to the pupil report. Any ideas? Will

Damn. Doesn't work. It does print the background colour (which it previously didn't) but it doesn't print (or preview) the objects (nav bar, etc). Any other ideas?

Good point. The elements that are missing are the elements they have included as part of their Master Page design (in WebPlus you can design a Master Page and use it as a template for all subsequent pages) and I bet the browsers are recognising that as background images. Genius!

We use Serif WebPlus 10 to make some websites. The kids work looks great, but when they try to print from Internet Explorer or Firefox, there are some elements missing (e.g. nav bar). Any idea what this could be? It shows up fine on the browsers, just doesn't appear on the Print Preview or printed document. Help!

That list is awesome Ric - but what about free software specifically for that age group? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your help so far. Yeah - I remember paying about £8 for a great program that did all this a number of years ago. It had a simple pull-down menu that could be configured to say Home / School / Whatever. Can't for the life of me remember what it was.

Does anybody know of any software (preferably free) that allows me easily to change my wireless IP settings. I have two settings (home and school) and want to easily flick between the two, rather than having to manually change the IP stuff every morning and evening. Thanks
