Yup definitely not a proxy issue!

Managed to wangle all the group settings, and give the service account write back permissions (although I'm not doing that at the moment). I've deactivated AD Sync and will try after 72 hours again. It's possible that way, way back in the mists of time when this was a Live@Edu tenancy I played around with directory sync in the bad old days. It's possible some of that is re-appearing to bite me in the arse.

We just have the standard BGfL proxy with no auth turned on. That's why I'm getting horribly confused as to why it's not working. I'm sure they wouldn't disallow this to sell BGfL 365?! Nah, I've run Network Monitor and the traffic is getting through and handshaking fine.

Constantly fails at the configuration stage - cannot connect to Azure AD blah. I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong ... during the setup it can connect and authenticate my cloud Global Administrator?!

Anyone else had problems getting this to work? Everything I'm reading about the error I'm getting is related to the proxy. It connects fine to check my cloud credentials, but fails configuring. So far I have: * Set the DotNet 4.5 proxy in machine.config (and yes in the format of http://10.120.224.57:80" * Set the netsh proxy * Shouted at it alot * Kicked a nearby cat Has anyone got this to work?!

Re: BGfl 365 we already have our own independent 365 tenancy, but my management team would like access to the CMS features of BGfL 365 - would have have to move our tenancy across to them?

Nothing we can do. No spare fibre on our road at all. Four schools and two NHS centres it's all gone. The distance between the sites is all public roads and pavements, there is no way we could get close to the cost for the public works to install our own. The sites are also not even close to line of sight!

I thought so. The problem we have is the sites are so far apart (1/2 mile to 1.5 miles) that the links need to be run between 100Mbps (primary and secondary) and 10Mbps (Post-16) internet links. I've been told all staff need access to ALL files where ever they are as staff are expected to move a lot between sites. This is worrying me with the data replication, it's also why we need the same domain across all three sites with a DC at each.

Hello All, Our school is expanding very shortly from what is basically a small primary to a larger primary, a mid-sized secondary and a small Post-16 centre. The server kit has to expand with it! I know what is staying in primary, and post-16 are getting the same but I am not sure what to do about secondary. The last time I put a refresh of servers in was 6 years ago. We went for HP Blades and storage array. Is this still something you'd do? Find a free blade enclosure get 3 top spec blades to run as virtual hosts and full everything from a large SAN? When this little problem is sorted, I just need to figure out how different "sites" work in Active Directory and DFS replication to ensure users home drives and shared folders are on a server at all three sites and replicate quietly. Any ideas?! Think of it as a bit of a blue sky session as well!

Hello All, What do people use to deal with both customisable web filtering, and real time monitoring of what is going on with PCs (such as open notepad and say "I want to fight for ISIS" and other Prevent agenda items)? We've looked at Smoothwall, but the price is prohibitive for us, and does not do the real time monitoring. We can get Policy Central cheaper through our LEA, but they really ramp the price up when you add on 200 iPads. We have AB Tutor for remote support. Any ideas?

Weird we got our KMS key on the 1st along with the MAK. KMS installs fine on our licensing server after the patches for Server 2008 R2. It just refuses to activate clients, they all report no KMS server available. The license attempt count on KMS is heading up rapidly. I've tried activating the KMS using VAMT - same deal. In the end the 6 clients I've got setup I've activated using the MAK for the time being.

Am I completely stupid, or can you export your private key from a GoDaddy cert?

Same here - we've got above the 5 minimum clients but no activation. Have Googled and it looks like a common problem. Typical Microsoft - there will be a patch out before long to fix it.

Hi Folks, Our LEA want just over £10,000 to move us from CMIS to SIMs. There are two large expenditure pots to get this figure: 1) Licensing 2) Having to buy another server so Facility runs until the end of the school year/FY depending when the migration was. I was tempted to virtualise our live CMIS server after migration and run it in Hyper-V. 3) They want about £5000 to export from CMIS to SIMs. Baring in mind that it is the school who has to do the most time consuming job - manually verifying all the data! Has anyone exported by hand? Is it possible?

Anyone know why SW Express as a second proxy is slow. I mean very, very slow with only me connecting through it. It is Hyper-V on Win 10, but has 4 cores, 3.5GHz, 4GB RAM. Two virtual legacy NICs on a 100Mbps LAN connection on the host. Any ideas?

All age special with only 150ish kids on role. The price was for the lump of iron, the installation and configuration and the ongoing support and list updates. As we are all age is looks like we got the price point for secondary - we just do not have £10k spare now. Even if we did it would be spent on migrating from Facility CMIS to SIMs

Anyone know why Enterprise Season 2 an original bluray rip is encoded at 1280x720 (720p) with a file size of 3.3GB. Whereas the same episodes from the same BluRay are encoded with x265 are 1080p but at 350MB in size!! I know the bitrate is far higher on the 720p encodes, but the quality is much better on the 10x reduced version in 265 Just to confuse matters Season 1 is encoded at 1080p with H.264 and that is also 3.3GB - the same size of the 720ps! I am so confused.

For Windows Update have you tried setting the proxy via netsh set http proxy? This worked on Win 8/.1 to allow Metro (sorry the IFKAM) apps to connect via a proxy when they would not when it was only set in IE.
