  1. No expansion in my mind can beat Wrath of the Lich King. That was awesome from start to finish. Even spending almost 18 months at Level 70 doing rep runs was so much fun, and I love Dalaran. By far the prettiest city.
  2. I'm playing Eve Online with two accounts mining in high sec space. It is blissfully quiet.
  3. I've bought a license for 4k Video Downloader. Works well.
  4. OT - I put this on our 'Elf and Safety message board. No one wants to remove it!
  5. PM me.
  6. Is he dead yet?
  7. Must have been worried as they never usually let the jets going supersonic over land - too much damage. In fairness the Ruskies have been playing with NATO air defences one hell of a lot lately. It's like the Cold War all over again.
  8. And that is why I refuse to use the Cloud for my personal stuff, let alone work. Twitpic have given away all photos to another company, and they have the right to do that. Your data is no longer yours, it belongs to a corporate entity who can do whatever they want with it. - - - Updated - - - And that is why I refuse to use the Cloud for my personal stuff, let alone work. 9. I see I'm not the only one who keeps the CCTV open on a third monitor!
  10. My God, enjoy the fact your staff embrace email. I still work in the early 1990s where any message is sent via gopher on paper. There are worse things than all-staff emails!
  11. I enjoyed it. Kids haven't seen it yet, no time!
  12. Enterprise class to handle up to 100 devices wireless G/N, not centrally managed. Going to be used as a stop gap in mobile class rooms, so nothing fancy. My old (very old) Orinoco wireless A/B/G points just do not cut it!
  13. I'm after a decent modular 800-1000W PSU. Under £100 would be nice! Recommend me people!

  16. Gah bloody Buffalo! Turns out their Drive Station Duo USB 3 can handle drives up to and above 8TB - but unless you buy it with them there is a catch. The software and the firmware will only partition drives up to 4TB. Spent all evening figuring it out, but if you place new Drive-Over-4TB into your PC and format it (with all options as required) and then with drive 2 leave it partition-less and put them back into the device it will then "rebuild" the array and start working fine. Stupid hardware!
  17. Am I doing this right? Today a nice shiney package arrived - 2x 6TB WD Reds to replace my now full 2x 4TB WD Greens. The Reds were on offer! For the last two years I've had my drives in Raid 1 plugged into a USB 3 Buffalo Drive Station (not a NAS, USB 3 into PC, then out via the gigabit network card). The idea being that if I needed my data out of the house I could take the box, or in the event of a fire I could save my precious data (so data then cats then wife!). Recently I've had buffering problems with videos, 480p DVD rips not just HD BR rips. Pauses, stutters and VLC had go blocky for a few seconds. Now I have these new drives I don't know whether it would be better to install them directly into my PC on two SATA III channels, or to keep them in the USB 3.0 enclosure. I've only taken the enclosure out from home once, so I don't really need the portability. Any ideas?
  18. Oh yes! That time again. Anyone had experience with a decent company, not one of these "We'll change the colour on our standard school template and charge you £2000 for it"
  19. I don't care how old it is (almost 15!) I still find PSP 7 to be one of the better low budget image manipulation packages out there. Animation Shop 3 is still the only bit of kit I know that allows you to resize a GIF, and keep the animation. Everything else strips it down to a single frame. Anyone else still daily, or weekly use software this old?
  20. Just as an aside - why did M$ decide to change this behaviour for Win Vista ++?
  21. If I change the Documents location from H:\ to H:\Documents, how will that effect laptops with offline sync. I assume it will need the offline cache formatting and then resyncing. otherwise there will be two copies of the same data in the offline cache (the original location, now not needed and the new location which will be forced to sync from scratch after the change). I've only got 120GB SSDs in the staff laptops, they can't handle two copies of some folks home directories!
  22. Lisicki isn't, especially with numbers etc!
  23. YES!! Trying all the old domain passwords and one finally works! From June 2011, apparently I was rooting for a certain German lady tennis player. Anyway! It works!
  24. Banging my head against Google here. Anyone know if this is possible. Dumbass here set a password on a 16 port DGS-1210 about three years and didn't note it down. Now I can't access it. It works fine, but you know I have the monitoring software and I'd like to see green ticks next to all my switches!
  25. Can't find this using search (probably my fault) Since going to Windows 7 everyone's Home Directory has that annoying desktop.ini which changes the folder name to "Documents". Hard when staff are trying to find a users drive. I've set a GP option to disable it (does sod all), I've emptied the file and turned all the security off so it's totally inaccessible, but it still happens. Help!
