why do you need to disable access

I have a server that i have just took out of production becasue we have moved it over our cluster, however the hardware is still very good and is resuable but i want to know if any one has ever done a windows 2008r2 cluster with a windows server 2012 as an extra host as at the moment we have 3 host @ 2k8r2 anything i need to watch out for ? thanks

you could use a custom mmc snap in with delegation control with ad on you would also need to make sure that that the ad tools are install on the client computers

Is the issue intermittent e.g random which isnt going to help alot also I would clare all events logs on the client and try and replicate the issue could it be a certain point he is going to in sims that is generating the issue also I would look at the sims server event logs and cross reference the time of the issue on to the server and see if that sheds any light

Humm ok whole thing very strange personally I would go with 3 options being that sims is a windows application and the error your describing basically windows is making sims malfunction 1 Uninstall sims and delete sims out of the program folder and try reinstall 2 Uninstall sims and .net and reinstall .net first then windows updated 3 Rebuild os with sims and .net only no other apps

I would like to know if any one has ever recovered a SharePoint Farm (whole site) from DPM2010 or 2012. and would like to know what spanners was thrown into the works. I don't have an issue with my farm however I would just like to see if any other people have done this. as this is something that I have not tested and is something that is going to be part of our DR plan as testing was never done. and would just like to get an idea of what to expect when I do ours lol cheers

Let me put it another way you wouldn't open your firewall ports for any one so why give them the passwords the passwords for your domain are as just important as those ports on the firewall you let one open and you have nuked your self

Wow I love the responses from people personally if they asked me for the admin password I would just say NO regardless of their position that at the end of the day your job is a network manager and they have to respect that level of authority and capability as a network managers we have access to the whole network and including financial access something even most heads would have access to except the bursar and by asking you for the password they are just under minding you enough said

Yea my snr tech keeps telling me I need to unplug but when you have over 30 servers etc kinda cant really and some teacher dont understand that things still have to be kept working for for the rest of the 365 days of the year and some times they moam about the smallest of crap it pees me right off my next big upgrade is to replace our main back bone and upgrading it to om3 and then replace the switch and cabs but do the staff take the appreciation of what we arw try to do for them and the pupils NO rant over lol
