Can anyone give me advise on trying to setup a sso with sophos UTM9 as having difficulty can access the login page that sophos uses but I get a error saying it can access the site a 403 error been onto the support and they are a bit unsure aswell just wondering if anyone else has had this issue

Couldn't you of enabled macros in excel in the trust center and the. Download the file on some issues we habe had to disable the protected view because some people wasn't able to print from ie even though some sites were ok and protected view was enabled....go figure but I suppose its down to your judgement and if you feel your computer and user are ok when browsing the internet that they dont download anything thats iffy plus if they cant install anything then you should be ok

In ad you will have an ou when they have been provisioned this is where they would turn up but also on the sims server or which ever server has the provisioning service on if you open up sims you will see a option for ad provisioning there but in order to have new users the pupil has to be admitted and that is under the application section under focus

just out of interest how do you monitor the tweets I mean surely people can comment @school and say something bad and then that looks bad as image for the school, I have been toying with the idea of creating a FB page and locking it down but I still think our SMT might not go for it due to the fact we are taking it away from our main VLE and also that there might be a conflict of interest in what the school is trying to do and also managing an maintaining the page and where do you stand on putting out images of the pupils e.g sports day etc or any other special events surely you would have had to have had permission from the parents about this for it to go into the general public domain. don't get me wrong im all for moving forward etc and making the school stand out but I think there are many ifs and but and questions that need outlining do any schools have a social media policy in place ?

Humm very confusing setup how many networks do you have

i have managed to get our DPM2012 linked up to our recovery vault with azure I on my server I have a D drive which I've used for the azure cache however now my online backups are failing because the drive is almost full does my cache have to be almost the same size as what my used space is which currently sits at 6,439.11GB can this cache folder contents be deleted ? not a lot on the web about this any help would be greatful

just wondering how other schools deal with staff profiles in the past we tried to create a MAN profile for staff but every time they logged in outlook kept screwing up and no matter how much I moan and tell staff to keep stuff in there N Drives, they wonder why there computer is slow to load when its loading a 5GB profile! what do other school have in place to battle this ?

yea just downloaded it and installed it on our dcs and this laptop im testing with - - - Updated - - - @midweek did you see much performance increase

I would like to say about that it has been known for some laptops maybe the odd one were they are stuck on the please wait screen for awhile but I think that's down to the laptop maybe not being use for some time. but generally I would say between a 1 min to 3 we but then again the network has full wireless n coverage the laptops are not allow to stick with just the one ap also we have set the laptops to delete profiles upon start up

not sure if any one else has came across but we have had some issue when it comes to profiles being loaded now pcs tend to be ok its mainly the laptops now our our profile size is 5.81 MB in size we do have "always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" gpo applied but im wondering if enabling cached logins would speed things up though

Not sure if anyone has but I have had a network penetration test done has proove not to of been that bad in fact our business manager was going to ask for one to to be done for a risk assessment on the school so just letting you guys know that your BMs or Smt might ask for one plus on the other side I guess it's good practice

What does sites and services say do they give you the propper name or its guid also do you have any issues with dns e.g can you see your SOA and its propper name any issues with pupils or staff logging on have you had any time sync problems

@jonimpero Hi jon I must say our school has been with Impero since back when it was version 1 and was still very young, I don't think there is a product on the market that tickets all of the boxes that not only NM, techies like but also it just brings the power back into teachers hands especially when they want kids to learn a subject they are trying to teach and the kids are being a pest. I remember somewhere in the distance past that a video was put up on youtube, I think it was, and it was in relation to how impero doesn't use a lot of bandwidth and kills the network. and also just how easy it is to use. I seen one of your techs in ASDA Spondon few days ago and we got talking about the software he didn't go into detail but he said there are some updates that are coming out ?? I tried to bribe him for a T-Shirt but he wasn't having any of it lol

really!! are you sure we have over 1400 pupils and they only use 1 mandatory profile we also use impero and that's fine I've done a test today with 45 pupils and all was fine

just had our fist exam since the update of the software and I must say everything has been ok, sorry to hear that people have issue still, only thing that caught us out when first time using this software was the sequence invigilator first then the clients well that's how we do it, also has anyone came across this focus violation, im assuming its something to do with how the server and client monitor the session, any ideas
