  2. The school i was at before did this and again Serco did it as part of the migration package. But to say it was a nightmare was a under statement.
  3. i am currently testing one of these. I have the white Asus Eee-PC 4gb model. I have installed XP Pro SP2 and followed the guidlines to cut remove certain un-needed windows files. I have done a windows update to bring it up to date and then removed the files that are kept. I have install SiMS and Office 2003. I am really impressed with it. We are going to trial these with PE staff instead of PDA's. Later today i will be installing Sophos and I'm sure this will give it a full test.

  5. From the end of the month everyone will have to use Lesson Monitor for their registration on the hour every hour. This is fine in 90% of the school as all classrooms a have net points and all staff have laptops. Problem area...P.E..! I am sure this subject has been covered before but i need help. Its been suggested that we use PDA in P.E and drama areas. We need to install a couple of Wireless AP's to cover th areas in question. How do you deal with this situation and hourly electronic registers? Does lesson monitor have to be done live via the PDA or can it be synced from a cradle a couple of times a day?
  6. Has anyone used/using any of these? We are looking to use them for certain things in our school. Firstly staff will use them to See how they work out for P.E staff etcetera.
  7. Similar problems on this post here, I don't think they sorted the problem at their school either. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/showthread.php?t=13558
  8. Can you install 2003 under a 2007 license?
  9. I am thinking of installing Exchnage 2007, i was wondering if anyone is currently using it now and if you have any feedback to give regarding installation. From what i can gather it is rather different at the admin GUI compared to 2003? Could peopel please give me advice/pitfalls what to look out for. The Exchange 2007 will only be configured fo rinternsl for the first few months until i get familiar with it.

  13. NO i did not use the simsperm, and yes they could access it before. I have checked what simsperm does and have set the same permissons via File System in GPO.
  14. Due to pc upgrade i have had to reinstall Sims.net. I have relaxed security on c:drive to the normal Sims folders and files. If when logged on as a staff user and go to 'Sims attendance Module >Process>OMR Entry> Print OMR registration sheet' I cannot print, it comes up with the following error Unexpected error in Sims Attendance Module: '17/12/07 0 is not a valid date'. If i try and print a PM register the error is 17/12/07 1 is not a valid date' The staff user can print a OMR absence sheet via Process>OMR Entry> print OMR Abscence sheet which seem sodd. But if log on as a administrator and go through the same process it prints fine. This makes me think its the security on the local C:drive but i can think of any other file/ location i need to change. I have searched the Capita forum and come up with nothig relating to it. I have checked all the regional and language settings on the pc ans well as the users profile and they are set to UK. Help

I wa wondering if anyone had a copy of the programme? or know where to download it from (if possible) I would also like to know if anyone has any documents that relate tot he programme? Someoen from SLT have asked about it after being told of the programme and issues it raised. I thought the best place to ask would be here.
  20. Just got it working. Followed the instructions from one of the Toshiba Forums Info below, the Sat Pro A200 has the Intel AHCI-Controller build in. This is not included in Windows XP. You will get an 0x0000007B bluescreen that shows that XP cannot identify the controller and has no driver for it. Here is a short description how to add this driver to your RIS installation: 1. Copy all single files from the Intel Storage Manager ICH-8M 32-Bit Floppy to your $oem$\Textmode directory. If this directory exists you have to modify your existing txtsetup.oem file and append/extract the AHCI driver from the txtsetup.oem file of the F6 floppy to it (don't overwrite the txtsetup.oem file in this case!). If this directory doesn't exists you can use the provided txtsetup.oem file numodified. Download the Storage Manager F6 Floppy here: http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/stormng-20070827133046.zip 2. Edit your Winnt.sif file (or what ever you named your answer file) and append or edit the following sections: MassStorageDrivers "Intel® 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M-E/M)" = oem OEMBootFiles iaahci.cat iaahci.inf iastor.cat iastor.inf iastor.sys license.txt readme.txt txtsetup.oem

  22. I have some Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 laptops which have SATA drives. I have come to copy a RIS image over to them and it complains there is no hard drive found. I know there is as it boots fron HD if i want it to . I have checked Toshiba support and there is a storage manager driver but the Toshiba site is as slow as hell at the moment. Do any of you have to add SATA driver to yur RIS images the way yiou sometimes have to add odd NIC drivers. Can someone give advice help on this please?
