  1. I need to stream to a server on my hosted server which is listening on port 80. I can stream to the server at home , but when I try it in school I get nowhere and I cannot contact the server to feed it my my stream. I can however access the administration page so I know it's not completely blocked. I am using Winamp currently and I have input the proxy settings, but I'm not sure if this applies to the DSP plugin or not. Does anyone have any experience with this ? I have seen messages on forums saying that you cannot do it through a proxy but these messages are very old so I'm hopeful things have changed since then. I'm going to try a transparent proxy to see if that works or not but it's a bit of an effort to go to if it still doesn't work. Any ideas ? Ps I have bypassed all our firewalls and filters for this test and I'm going directly to our upstream server.
  2. Thanks I suspected as much.
  3. Yes they make it difficult as the launcher actually just installs the program to the local profile which may not be allowed. If you buy it you get a nice MSI.........
  4. Core 2 3 gig of ram, SATA HD.
  5. Does anyone know what the access is like between schools these days ? I know they were talking about blocking it all a few years ago but I have no idea if they did this or not. Is anyone using any remote tools or services at another school over the CLEO network ? I am looking to give our primary feeders access to our Shoutcast server for our radio room. I have made a query to One Connect but suspect I might get an answer to the current situation here a little quicker .
  6. This is when there is barely anyone using the connection at 8:11 am
  7. Original post edited for IPs.
  8. On the same sort of subject how are people finding their connection to their Moodle ? Ours seem to be very slow with a lot of issues logging in sometimes and it's not because they are using the wrong password.
  9. This is today bypassing our local filter.
  10. I gave up trying to undo the changes I just rebuilt the image and disabled the task sequence step.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Are you sure those details are correct ? That is only 2 usable address is it not ? A /30 subnet will 2 ^ 2 -2 = 2 addresses ie the only valid addresses are the second and third address in the range, the first is the network address and the last is the broadcast address. A sanitised version of your config may help me picture your setup better.
  13. Take it off the domain and put it back on again, if that doesn't work reinstall it, sometimes these issues will take a lot longer to fix than a re-image.
  14. I used Ustream last year it worked sort of as in connected but we seemed to suffer from a lot of packet loss. I have a hosted server so I am probably looking at running a Shoutcast server on that running on an accessible port. Ps you really need to watch the fine print on the UStream terms and you are only allowed so many listeners and you will get charged if you go over that.
  15. I don't know of many that give you credit for a partially correct answer.
  16. I use a HP Microserver with FreeNAS as an ISCSI target for one of my DPM servers. Was a bit flakey using the onboard NIC so I put in another NIC and it's been perfect. So what I'm getting at is you can use software RAID with something like FreeNAS for an application like this.
  17. We use Cacti and Weathermap this gives us graphing of current 5 min averages as well as hourly, daily weekly etc. I then use Weathermap which allows you to draw any kind of digram you like and display link speeds etc, basically anything that you are already graphing in Cacti. The links will change colour according to the scale at the bottom. I have different Weathermaps for other things as well. I have attached two simple examples of ones I use (Some elements on them are not in use/under construction) I would recommend the following book for learning Wireshark, if you are serious about wanting to know this stuff you need to learn the basics at least: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Practical-Packet-Analysis-Wireshark-Real-World/dp/1593272669/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1361971466&sr=1-1
  18. Sounds like a broadcast storm of some sort. Look at the logs in the web interface of each switch they may potentially tell you of any issues, you may need to turn up the sensitivity of the error detection. Have a look at the logs from the command prompt on your switches especially the core switch, there will be more information in there than on the web interface. Get wireshark and start looking for anything that looks like it's making a lot of noise.
  19. What does a traceroute to google.com tell you?
  20. You will probably find it will work okay next time, sometimes it doesn't "overwrite" the account if a different user account is used from the one that was used the first time.
  21. I usually get them from FFT.
  22. As title looking for a new colour A3 printer, needs to have it's own print server etc. We have HP mostly here but I am willing to look at others. Must have decent drivers for Windows 7/2008 R2. Cheers Chris
  23. I like the scripting aspect of Papercut it's very flexible and allows you to tailor it to your requirements eg we have ICT suites that have normal timetabled lessons and bookable sessions so I made a script to charge the department who is in there for that period and on bookable sessions the print jobs go to the release queue, for which each dept has a shared account they release the jobs from.
  24. This is one of my favourite stealth ones I have seen it folds back up into the bar.
  25. It's always picked that port if something else is running on port 80 on the older version.
