What is their reasoning behind them being publicly available online? Perhaps there is an alternative solution such as emailing each student a copy of their own timetable.

That's what the intermediary upgrade is for, you buy 2,400Mhz then in a couple of years time you buy the cheaper 3200Mhz+ RAM rather than having to replace RAM, Motherboard and Processor. It's better in the long run.

The reason I would buy DDR4 and go down the X99 route would simply be that in a year, or two years time I would rather upgrade my RAM than the whole rig. I don't know how often she refreshes her rig, personally I think about rebuilding every 3-4 years tops because technology moves that quickly. So for future proofing it's about what you will be using next, next in all cases will be DDR4 and yes while you would still have to rebuild your rig at some point in both cases as the next gen i7s aren't likely to fit the current X99 motherboards, I would rather have the opportunity to upgrade the RAM as an intermediary between rigs, than build a rig today knowing I'll want to switch it out in a year or twos time. Plus with the intermediary upgrade you can carry that over to your next build and not have to worry about that cost next time around.

£180 extra is perfectly reasonable given what you would be getting in return (better performance, future proofing, less cost in future). But like you say if she is really keen on it being small then the whole discussion is pretty pointless, although in the OP it's stated that size shouldn't take priority over performance so really the X99 should win this hands down. Could do with @steveg coming back and giving us an update/feedback/thoughts on what has been said so far. I mean that £693 leaves you with just over £800 to spend on everything else and that's if the budget remains at £1500, the OP said that she might go over if the reason is valid, I believe you could go £180 over for this. It's just another option and something certainly worth considering, this is a bit of an awkward time for a build to be honest, 6 months backwards or forwards and the options were fairly clear.

Given the initial budget is £1500, I don't see a reason why you wouldn't spec for DDR4.

No DDR4 motherboard? I would consider that a big oversight if you want to futureproof for a few years.

If you are at work right now you need to go home and install it. In fact remote in and begin installing it now, then leave when it is close to finishing so that it'll be ready for you when you get back.

If they end up releasing a Half Life game that requires VR I will be extremely disappointed, if however it is an optional extra then I'll be fine with that. Also, HL3 definitely no more confirmed than any other time someone mentions Half Life.

I would assume the same issue that effects Exchange Online may also be in the latest Roll Up, so presumably they will need to release a patch for on premises if that is the case, it would be worth mentioning to your service rep to see if they can confirm that.

This isn't really a surprise their fastest time previously was 4th fastest on the medium tyre, beaten only by times on the soft/supersoft I believe.

Excel spreadsheet populated from data pulled from an SCCM query, very simple to setup. Other things like projectors and smartboards which aren't necessarily networked are done manually. I believe this (the following) is correct, though this was how it worked in Exchange 2010 and room mailboxes, may be different for O365 Meeting Rooms. If the person setting up the meeting doesn't have permission to edit/create meetings on the target calendar then I believe an email is sent to the rooms mailbox so that whoever administers it can accept the meeting.

Good news, had another call from out support contact, the operations team have confirmed the issue, have developed a fix and deployed it to production for Exchange Online. There isn't a need to do anything on our end, so it's just a case of waiting for the fix to propagate through to our organisation. So yours should also be fixed shortly, our contact said that these fixes can take up to 8 weeks, though he expects it to be significantly less time. I don't know how you want to proceed with your request to be honest, probably best to follow it to the end I suppose.

Have you taken off the USB drivers too? That would be my next step before I just flattened the machine, and if that didn't work I would make sure gravity still had the expected effect on it by throwing it out the window.

If it works with a laptop and not with the PC you should probably just take the drivers and software off and put it back again. Also clear up some disc space to resolve that unable to save issue, SMART probably has some check in place that if the free disc space goes below a certain % then it stops saving.

You can configure those DNS entries on your internal DNS server, I decided to test it after all and it works nicely, no need for a GPO. Plus if you ever wanted to use it on a mobile device this is almost a requirement.

We have only fiddled with Lync but we got it working on site by opening the client, going to Settings, Personal tab and then clicking Advanced... you should see Automatic Configuration and Manual configuration. I presume you can deploy the settings or make them discoverable in some way but never looked into it, in the mean time you can use a manual configuration for some testing. Set both the internal and external server names to: sipdir.online.lync.com:443 This should allow the client to connect to O365 and sign in.
