Indeed, and that is the problem and why people do not vote.

It would actually be surprisingly simple to solve the problem, simply add a none of the above box as an option. Then see what people actually think when given an actual option. But as is usually the case we couldn't get such a thing added as government would decide it for us rather than allowing us to vote on it, and they would decide not to do it because they are afraid of what people really think.

However the vast majority of people would rather have none of the candidates available, the candidates that received votes would have received such a small proportion that it wouldn't be representative. You could lodge an election petition and have the whole thing declared void and the election rerun. That doesn't mean the outcome would be any better however. Problem is that realistically these days you would never have this at a local or national level, for void votes to actually mean something you are talking about needing in effect a democratic revolution to take place. The closest I suppose to this in the modern day was Iceland which effectively crowd-sourced a new constitution, though even that appears to have failed despite having a successful referendum on it.

That's simply untrue, what you are looking at is seats, not votes, which once again highlights the issue with FPTP.

Under AV Labour would have had an additional 4 seats at the 2010 election, so I don't think that's true. I'm pretty sure Labour would welcome AV with open arms as the conservatives would have lost 25 seats.

I can't see them pushing it through WSUS, it's aimed at the consumer market not corporate.

This comes across a lot like "Fire in the server room? Blame IT!" when in all likelihood it was something completely unrelated to IT, if it's a brand new building I would be asking what the builder missed/which regs got skipped. Also the top comment on that thread is brilliantly unrealistic, "Why didn't the computer server room have an automated fire prevention/extinguishing system in place?" yes because all schools and colleges can afford something like that.

Well, from what I gather you can have a button for specific products if you want but that's an additional thing to the wand which is the primary device.

I'm in two minds about this, firstly I think a system like this would be incredibly useful so I welcome it. However the implementation seems a little wonky to me, just how many of these things am I going to end up with? Where am I going to put them all? A better way would have been an app which allows you to do a rapid order at the press of a button, rather than having to keep a draw full of these things in the future. Edit: As usual the BBC reports half a story, the quick button is just one aspect of Dash, another is a handheld scanner which you can use to scan barcodes and allows you to build an order via an app or the website. I expect this would allow you to do the rapid order system I spoke about.

Staff, sixth formers and all visitors are issued with one. The students come in uniform so there isn't a pressing need for them to have a form of ID. Those who do have one the card also doubles as both library and canteen card.

Have you checked you are on the fast track build release? Also you may need to perform some windows updates before it sees you as eligible.

Yeah it kind of sucks, I've had it happen twice. But that's the cost for early builds I suppose!

It may have been built from scratch, but if the upgrade has corrupted the install which seems to be fairly common then you will need to start over.

Sounds like the update failed and it rolled back, but then corrupted in the process. I would rebuild it from scratch.

In your opinion it isn't useless voting, if you don't want to hear my view on it then that's fine but please don't believe you have the right to force your views upon me. Also you are confusing two issues, this is about me voting or not voting. The effect UKIP has had is a result of them taking votes from existing parties, not bringing in people who don't normally vote.
