@X-13 and @Steve21 are you still having problems with Google Images being borked? It definitely doesn't work here in IE or Chrome when using sslfilter.proxy.swgfl.org.uk - are you guys still having problems? Google Images works fine if using unfiltered connection. I'm about to log a call but it'd be handy to know if you or anyone else is still struggling.

Godaddy wildcard and individual certs here, no issues with iPhones and iPads not accepting those certificates.

I think there's some controversy with some of their practices...maybe... But we also get all our certs from there with no problem. What issues do you have?

Crikey, thanks y'all. Cost? I was under the impression that it was free to go up to FrogOS (when they were calling it that) and you just had to ask for it to be switched on -- is that not the case? I understand we still have a support contract with them. Frog here is just used as a noticeboard and a link to email. We don't use any of the behaviour modules, nor the work-setting stuff. The only thing that is used occasionally is Secure Gateway and subject "websites" that I set up...

Hello fellow Frog users. I have to admit that we have been a bit out-of-the-loop as far as FrogLearn goes. We are still running Frog 3 and have no real intention of moving to FrogLearn any time soon, but appreciate that the day will probably come that Frog 3 is no longer in active development (if it hasn't reached that point already) and might even not be supported. It would be really good to get some feedback from you guys on what FrogLearn is all about. Specifically from a teachers' and users' point of view, why would we want to move to FrogLearn away from Frog 3. I understand that FrogLearn is meant to play better with non-IE browsers, but that's about all I can work out! Those of you that have moved from Frog 3 to FrogLearn, how did it go? Those that have actively chosen not to move, how come? Some first-hand information from actual FrogLearn users would be great, if you're able to help. Additionally, if you're in the South-West and might be willing to show us your system, that would be much appreciated too. Eduhobnobs provided, of course. Thanks in advance

We're using Nakivo here - runs as a VM and backs up all our VMs to NAS boxes dotted around the site. It's basically Veeam, slightly behind their feature set, but miles cheaper. Great success with it so far. A couple of physical servers still back up using BackupAssist, one even uses Robocopy in a batch file. Does the trick.

General roles: Network Manager - budgets, finance, ordering, planning, strategic stuff Assistant Network Manager (me) - servers, switching, wireless, email, print, VLE, databases, inventory, Macs, AD/DNS/DHCP/CC4, backups, filtering, software updates, limited CCTV stuff 4 ICT Technicians - cameras, projectors, keyboard replacements, hardware upgrades, rebuilds, software development, software packaging, visualisers, PC installs, network cabling, printers, toners, general support. We're all in one open plan office. We support about 1800 students, almost 200 teachers and about 100 support staff. We manage 500 desktops, 600 laptops, 120 tablets, 60 cameras (somehow!), 3 VMware servers + SAN, 5 other servers, 30 switches, 60 access points, 80 printers and everything else that comes with it. One technician generally deals with the day-to-day customer-facing stuff, the other three technicians split between them the hardware duties, one has a particular penchant for software development. Nothing's cast in stone though, so we all pitch in with various different things all the time. Hope that helps!

8GB for staff, plus whatever they need in the Staff drive. Just 250MB for students! Maybe set their quota to 125% of the average disk usage, a bit more than what they're using for those that are above this limit and ask them to have a tidy up?

I'm sure Dave will come up with a good machine, and if you want a workhorse PC then building your own is definitely the way to go. I would just like to shout up about my i5/8GB/256GB Surface Pro 3 - it's awesome! It has basically replaced my 8-ish-year-old PC and my old MacBook Pro. I've got the dock plugged into two screens and my wireless keyboard/mouse and printer and other stuff so it works as a desktop replacement just fine. I will admit I don't play games on the SP3 but do a lot of work with multi-track audio and stuff, web stuff, code, writing for my uni course, it runs a couple of VMs in VirtualBox....It's awesome. Plus the portability of the form factor, the surface pen is great for note-taking and meetings, I love it. Best single bit of kit I've ever purchased. But that's just me! Really depends what you actually want out of your machine.

OK, not to worry then! It would just help a lot if they sorted their version numbers out! And back to the original thread, hope @swiftysw1 gets his Nova Satellite sorted. Another thing to mention, it just reminded me doing it myself, when you install the NovaSatelliteSetup.exe it installs stuff to "C:\Program Files\SIMS\SATS\NOVA" - you then need NovaT6Setup.exe from that directory to actually install NT6 satellite.

Whaaaat... No idea then. If it helps, running NT6 network and NT6 satellite EXEs, in About, we get "Version 6.32, Build 6" - what about you? Capita's version numbers make absolutely no sense whatsoever...

Hmm, how come ours is 07/04/15? The file version number is 1.626.3.0 -- would you guys mind checking what yours is? I have an issue with NT6 on the DH's machine, so want to check all is OK!

Our NovaSatelliteSetup.exe is stamped 07/04/2015 -- which is the date we did our Spring 2015 SIMS upgrade. Edit: MLICENCE.DAT is stamped 2004.

@MicrodigitUK might be able to help - he's come up with some cool Moodle and Frog PaperCut widgets. ...and hopefully if he sees this it might remind him to reply to my email about coming to the pub this week!
