Hi all, just found out a little trick I believe will only work in Windows 7 onwards. Wish I'd known about this months ago! If you have a folder full of CSVs and you want them all merging in to a single file, you can use the "copy" command via the command line to merge them for you e.g.: copy *.csv merged.csv Hopefully this will come in handy to someone, or maybe I'm just very late to this party

@matt40k is correct - if you put a UDF in the Welfare panel for example, only users who have sufficient permissions to view that panel will be able to see it Although you are correct that only those you give access to marksheets can edit the data, anyone can view it by opening up a student profile and clicking on "Assessment" under "Links"

@CAM is right, you need to be careful what you are storing in AM7 as it's viewable to anyone via the "Assessment" tab (in student links) That said, if you are sure the data is not sensitive and are happy for any SIMS user to see it, AM7 is a great solution to your problem. AFAIK, UDFs do not support history or auditing. You could set up fields for date, user and comment but that'd still only allow one value to be stored but at least you'd know when it was last updated. As for bulk UDFs updating, I don't know if it still works but @matt40k made a tool to do that a while ago: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/sims-bulk-import/128851-sims-bulk-import-1-7-a.html

Yeah well that's what I'm hoping if I can't get this working (so far so good with the boot fix BTW...) I just wish I knew somebody who had gone through the process with Overclockers so I'd have a better idea how helpful they'll be. I'm already annoyed with them for not publishing my review of the awful BitFenix Colossus mATX case they sold me, in fact that alone is enough for me never to buy from them again; how can you trust them if they'll only post positive reviews?

Have tried all those apart from the boot fix, so I'm trying that now. Next thing to try is to use DDU to completely remove the drivers, then try another install. I'll repeat that until the crash has persisted across 3 versions of the drivers, then it's getting RMA'd. My only worry with RMA is it's not a consistent crash, sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't, and I'll be extremely p'd off if Overclockers decide the card is fine then charge me for the privilege of having it back

To be fair you could be on to something RE particular drivers - don't AMD bundle something with CCC that is supposed to improve video playback quality? Would tie in with the BSODs happening mainly when streaming video... I had an issue with a beta Nvidia driver that was fixed by removing the stereoscopic driver so that may well help... I have 28 days to send off the card for RMA, so I'll give it another week at least to do some more testing, be damned if I'm paying Overclockers more money for nothing!

Yeah looking at the sheer number of issues and age range of those issues (this one has been being reported for at least 4 years!), I'm beginning to wish I'd steered clear of AMD TBH. OK, Overclockers have accepted the RMA but has anyone here ever done an RMA with them? Reading the small print, they'll charge me £12.50 plus P&P if they don't agree the card is faulty. Well, considering the BSODs happen about twice a day and only (so far) when watching videos/switching the TV source, I'm not confident they will find the fault and they're then going to charge me for it

What @nephilim said (your 280 will outperform my 560, but is probably DX7/8 rather than 10) plus the Steam Workshop HD texture pack is only 1/4 the size of the 4K textures on Nexus due to Steam Workshop's file size limits - it's still very pretty though and Steam's version is just fine on my rig

Funnily enough, I've just done the same thing! I also installed Nexus Mod Manager to add some mods unavailable in Steam but my poor old GTX560 couldn't handle it lol, so back to Steam Workshop mods. Still looks infinitely better than the 360 version did, and I wasn't at all disappointed with that at the time!

Alternatively, look at scripting this using SIMS Command Reporter (free utility in every SIMS installation folder). Capita strongly discourage directly accessing the SQL and if you mess anything up whilst accessing it, they'll charge you handsomely to put it right. Aside from that, it's one of the most cryptic DBs I've ever seen! As for your particular problem, you'll be wanting to set up assessment reports (filtering is possible via CLR but easier in report designer if it's only you who is going to be using it) and class reports. It's a security issue, non chrome pages can't open chrome links. However, there is a workaround, you can open a new tab and direct it to the chrome page with a little jscript: Chrome Language Settings

I agree but what's even more infuriating is my bank's recent trend of calling me then asking me to confirm my identity via a series of personal questions. When I point out that they called me and that they could be anybody, they act like I'm the idiot! Of course I never tell them anything but have called my bank directly when this has happened and yes, it was the bank and yes, they do need to confirm my details. Absolute stupidity. Then again, I am with Lloyds, nothing they do makes any sense to me any more!

I remember I had a lot of problems when I first had my last AMD GPU, it was quite a while back I believe it was an HD 2450... had so much trouble in fact I swore I wouldn't touch AMD again! With this new build, all sources said that the R9 range were unbeatable value so thought they must be OK now. You can imagine my fury when the BSODs started! I've requested an RMA from Overclockers, will see what they say. In the meantime if anyone else has had this (a Google search shows it's not uncommon) and found a solution that worked for them, I'm willing to give it a go

I've tried numerous fixes I've found online, including reinstalling drivers, registry hacking the TdrDelay value, underclocking the GPU. None seem to have worked (though I thought TdrDelay had as the problem went away for a whole day) Next step is to try removing a stick of RAM as that's been reported to work but if that is the only fix, this card is going back. Ridiculous compromise. Any regular AMD users experienced this issue and if so, do you know of a reliable fix?

Definitely. Having built a couple of machine in Coolermaster Elite 120 cases, I can safely say this case is badly designed; those cases are also SFF but so well laid out they were a cinch to install, routing was some of the easiest I've come across, installing drives was simple... can't say the same for this mess of a thing.

A picture of what, the insides? I didn't take any photos and to be honest with you I have no intentions of opening the damn thing unless I absolutely have to - it very nearly got thrown in the bin the second time the IO leads detached. You have to connect them before you put the HDD caddy in, otherwise you can't reach, but as they're so short if you knock the side panel away from it's position balancing along the side of the case even slightly, they all get pulled out. I can't face it again this week!
