Anyone else listened to Dirtchamber Sessions? That's an awesome album - by Prodigy but it's sort of a DJ set rather than their own songs, brilliant though. Not sure about these new songs but then I've felt like that about the last two albums and they eventually grew on me. Suppose it's not the kind of music to listen to whilst filling in spreadsheets

This tool can help you calculate how much power you need (round up to the nearest available PSU or higher): eXtreme Power Supply Calculator - The most trusted PSU Wattage Calculator 750w should be ample power unless you have a dozen drives in there... Could be a driver issue. I kept getting BSOD with a 270X, had it replaced twice then gave up and got a GTX 760, haven't had a problem since. Try the GPU in a different machine if you can. Also, don't skimp on PSU; cheap brands often can't actually deliver the power they claim to and are often lacking the protective circuitry to prevent your mobo getting fried in the event of a surge. Jonny Guru won't steer you wrong on PSU choice.

Just to update anyone who is interested, Friday night I successfully made a soundcard oscilloscope (very, very simple circuit!). I decided to put on a proper stereo jack and banana plugs for the test leads to tidy it up and mount nicely in an enclosure. Unfortunately, I way overestimated the size of the enclosure I ordered! I'll have to order a bigger one to mount it all in (memo to self; always sketch a scale drawing first!):

It's very likely a hoax; I can't access it at work, but someone on reddit calculated the dimensions from the side-by-side pic and proved that the bluray drive slot was considerably smaller than a bluray disc.

That's a deal breaker for me - hitting that 60fps benchmark that appears to be the minimum for lots of enthusiasts doesn't bother me anywhere nearly as much as getting rid of stutter, even if it means playing at 30fps...

Are you having similar issues with SLI as @sonofsanta had with crossfire? Got to be honest, I gave up on AMD cards because I was constantly plagued by driver issues so it doesn't surprise me that crossfire only adds to the issues, but is SLI any better? I'm not much of a "tweaker" with games - if it's a game I'm really in to I might tweak the settings to get the best I can (assuming the auto "ultra" setting is too high) but other than that, I'm happy to use the highest possible auto setting that runs smoothly.

Yeah for an extra £100, I may as well wait if I'm going to do it I suppose. By the time I have the money for a 970, there may well be a next gen card out! Have also given serious consideration to SLI'ing my 760, do I remember right that you have an SLI setup?

Wow, that's cheaper than the 760 is now! Fingers crossed they do make a 4GB, still tempted by this anyway... or do I save the extra for a 970? [i'll probably actually buy neither, because life has a nasty habit of getting in the way of luxuries!]

I find it very interesting that they recommend a 3.2GHz, quad core Intel chip or an 4.0GHz eight core AMD - throws those "AMD is best on a budget" claims a bit of a spanner...

If they can get this to the £200 or below mark (like previous x60s) and 4GB, I'll buy one. EDIT: I know RRP is more than £200 on the 760, but you can find them easily for less

Went and did some more reading and I think the soundcard oscope will be good enough for me for the time being. Just ordered the parts I was missing to make this and case it - can't stand loose circuits, it's untidy!
