We are George Spencer School, Running Advanced IT Services(data centre) business, If you send me a pm I am sure we can work a reasonable price out for off-site storage for backups.
-
PM me if you want to chat in detail. we have been running windows 7 successfully on our network since it was in beta stage. We have over come many issues etc with printers. way to much to put in writing.

This is all fine. However how do you backup a 5TB storage array.. We have san storage but the backup san system is well over 7x the size. running quotas 500mb per staff member. 250 per pupil. unlimited video storage on dedicated storage drive (not backed up) 100GB staff and pupil shared storage areas.

Also most unhelpful.. My suggestion is can i pay for netgear to look at them/fix them.. His answer no.. But then as I trawl through netgear support there is some support option at 178 for a year.. (next day replacement.. still cheaper than buying a new unit). I just cant imagine there actually properly broken. Its as if they are stuck on bootup..
-
Do you mean netgear support direct... ( if so i tried that and in there words looks like they have died.)

Thanks for the reply, In theory they should be in warranty but they need a proof of purchase. What seems to have been lost.....

Hi, Just got 4 of our GS700ts or now known as (GS748ts) switches out of storage. 2 work perfectly. 2 of them however don't seem to work (tried pressing reset and factory restore - no change) They turn on fine ports light up (don't flash so they don't actually transmit data) and the stack id number stays on 0. Should go to 1 after a factory reset. Any help greatly appreciated. Don't really fancy spending money to replace them..

Hi, Anybody having issues getting on Bing this morning. Doesn't seem to load for me.. Two teachers have complained so far.. Everything else is working.
-
Hi, 2D is loading, and for some reason pupils can navigate to the storage server (through network places) access any other pupil information/ delete /make items etc. I have checked permissions and its not that. This is a new 2008 R2 server box. Interestingly, If i set share permission to only the correct pupil rather than everyone they can no longer access. Its like by default not having any security permission on a folder is giving them rights to edit the folder. Any thoughts?

Sorry to pick fault but if its serving iscsi it will not use any ram what so ever... If its serving nas then it will use ram and lots of it will seriously increase speed.

First Question: If you mean connect Core Switch one on the left to Core Switch to then yes you are correct you do (as in the diagram) Second Question: IT's called Virtual Switch Port Isolation: It provides a security mechanism that restrict guest-to-guest communications within a virtual switch. What I dont know is if your switches support this.

Check my Sims server spec and quotes if you can provide them!
AIT replied to siuko's topic in MIS Systems
2 separate raid 1, would be far better than one large raid 5. long as system and logs on one and sql on another. -
not for me yet
