  1. Morning all, I'm after some recommendations if possible. I'm after a printer that will do a "proper" Air Print. At school we have no wireless, so I need a device that will allow me to print directly to the printer from the iPad's (essentially the printer becomes a WAP if I understand it correctly). Does anyone currently have such a device that you could recommend to me? Thanks Iain Faulkner
  2. We quite regularly go through the pricing process for new PC's and Ergo are always the best priced and by some distance (our business manager would prefer me to use a variety of suppliers, but on cost alone we can't justify it). I've used Ergo in my current school (purchased approx 200 PC's) and in my last school (approx 500 PC's) and have been using their kit for around 6 years now. I cannot fault the quality of the PC's we buy, it is pretty rare (in my experience) that they have a problem and when they do, we can normally get an engineer on site next day. I believe, if you ask, they will also provide you with a buffer stock of parts for PC's allowing you to do some repairs yourself much quicker than having to rely on an engineer (I know this means you have to do it, but it does give you a quick fix). My previous school has now had a large batch of Ergo's for 6 years, so are now outside of the warranty and they still perform well by all accounts. They have recently been purchased by the VIP group, which also own Zoostorm, but what I've found is that the only impact this has had is on pricing which has become cheaper. I would agree that they seem to be a company in transition, there seems to be a lot of staff change in the background, but I haven't noticed it really impact on anything (certainly not on a PC supplying side anyway). Hope this is of use. Iain
  3. Many congratulations :-) Love the babygro :-)
  4. forgot to post on this the other day :-) Had my WeightWatchers weigh in on Wednesday and lost a further 2lb's. Takes me to a total loss of 72.5lb's this time at WeightWatchers, into the 14 stone bracket and I'm now exactly 1 Stone away from a healthy BMI :-)
  5. Hi, It is yes, I've setup a group policy to put this setting in place and from what I can see it does do this as required. Iain
  6. Morning all, I'm having a play with Sharepoint 2013 but have a couple of bits I can't quite get my head around which would finish off my site quite nicely. First one, single sign on. When I've used Sharepoint in previous versions, It was really easy to get staff to simply open up a link and be automatically signed into the sharepoint site. I can't quite get my head around it in 2013. Second - Redirect on a form save. When a user saves a form, I want them to be directed back to the site homepage rather than directed to the home of the list that the form is attached to. Any suggestions? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks Iain
  7. Afternoon all, I've got a new user in school with a severe visual impairment. As a result I've been asked to provide him with a customised desktop experience. What I've been asked to provide is large desktop icons and for the magnify tool to run when he logs on. Can anyone recommend the best way to achieve this? Because it's only for one user, I was looking at doing it through GPO or GPP Thanks Iain
  8. Another week, and another loss :-) 2.5lb's off this week at my WeightWatchers weigh in :-) Takes me to a total loss of 71lb's and my bmi has dropped below 27 for the first time ever :-) only 16lb's left until I become a WeightWatchers gold member and my BMI gets into the "healthy" range :-)
  9. We use a mix, shared printers (in a departmental office for example) we do by script. Porper networked printers in IT suites (for example) are done through group policy.
  10. We have the all staff group locked down so only a few select admin staff and the SLT can use it. It's been so much quieter since that was implemented :-)
  11. Apologies if this is in the wrong place.... I'm trying to get 10 iPad mini's (I know there is a seperate forum for iPads, but this relates to my Mac Server) to join the Meraki MDM through the Apple Configurator. Most of the process seems to go through ok, however when it tries to install the Meraki Management profile it fails, with the following errors. Description Profile installation failed - Code 4001 - Domain - MCInstallationErrorDomain Description The internet connection appears to be offline - Code -1009 - NSURLErrorDomain From what I can see, the internet connection is fine (transparent proxy for the Mac Server, using a hidden open SSiD for the iPad's) I can certainly browse using a variety of websites. Any suggestions? Thanks Iain
  12. Definitely largely diet over exercise (I've done it the other way round and although I got a lot fitter, I didn't get anywhere near the weight loss I've had this time). You also have to be able to have the occasional blow out, or odd treat. If you constantly deprive yourself you resent it and makes you crave what you are depriving yourself of which makes it a lot harder.
  13. Thanks David :-) I've hit a bit of a plateau at the moment and am struggling to keep losing every week. It's still going the right way, just ever so gradually compared to how it was at the start of the year. One of my next targets is to get under 15 stone, but then I'll have a similar goal to you in trying to get under 90kg :-) I really need to up my exercise levels, but am really struggling to find the time at the moment.
  14. Well, after just under a year of working at WeightWatchers I hit my own personal goal (not the WW one) of losing 5 stone! 70 pounds gone in this instance of being a WeightWatchers member. However, from my heaviest weight ever (back at the end of 2008) I am now 7 stone down! The before and after shots (as @Joanne said) really make you realise just how far you've come.
  15. All registered :-) We built the cost into this years budget proposal and managed to get it approved very early :-) Rail fare, overnight stay and a day at the show :-) Can't wait :-)
  16. I'm hoping to do it this year :-)
  17. Sorry, I should have said :-) The first of the two fixes sorted it (I obviously then didn't have need to do anything with the second solution).
  18. Thanks @JonZaman that's fixed it....I'm back to where I was on Friday :-)
  19. Hi Nick, Thanks for coming back to me again. There are no updates available for the server (I've given it a restart though just in case). Logged back on and it's still the same :-(
  20. Hi, Sorry about this. I left HAP on Friday having gotten to the initial setup pages. Left it at that for today. Come back to it just now and I'm getting the following screen when I try to access. Any suggestions? Thanks
  21. I think I'd get a few things ticket off my bucket list first and foremost :-) Attending all 4 of the golfing majors for example, playing at some of the more exclusive clubs around the world. I'd buy my dream car, VW Beetle, and have my VW camper done up to show condition. I would have to do some more sensible things though, pay off the mortgage for example, sort my parents out (or at least put a dent in their debt)...would certainly keep working.
  22. Sorry, that's exactly what I've just done :-) All sorted :-) Thanks for coming back to me anyway :-)
  23. Afternoon all, I'm doing a first time installation of HAP (mainly to look at helpdesk and booking options). I've built a new virtual server running Windows Server 2012 R2 and have followed the setup instructions as per the video entitled "HAP+ Windows Server 2012 Setup" (so I've made changes to IIS and the webconfig file as instructed). I'm now trying to browse to the site in order to run the setup/installation but I get the following error (see screenshot). Any suggestions?
  24. Jamie Oliver's Balsamic Chilli glaze :-)
