HAHAHAHAHHAHAH My Software - Your Freeware

Ok this is Ugly with capital UG, but it does what it says on the tin. File Renamer - Rename all your files, folders and shortcuts, with all shapes and options you will ever need. You can numerate files sequentially, batch rename, replace strings, modify strings, change dates, modify file's attributes, etc. Drag and drop all files and folders from explorer to it's window, has full, 'infinite undo' function - so you will always be safe , and you can also create your own more elaborated scripts, adding every kind of available option together, for repetitive and more complex renaming actions. All you need to know is that it works and is easy to use even if it looks clunky. http://www.webxpace.net/software/software.shtml#FileRenamer sorry

Vapour ware?

And our site (and b3ta) is down again.

Only in the sense that no combustion takes place, otherwise an electric arc is fairly close to a flame as you can get, and usually a very very hot one at that. My old arc welder had a carbon arc brazing attachment that would burn through anything.

http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/e371e9c7da.jpg theres a newer one on B3ta but the site is down at the moment.

And to fix the Active Desktop recovery error you save this as a reg file and get your user to double click it. It needs the permissions to be se right though in AD. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\SafeMode\Components] "DeskHtmlVersion"=dword:000000 "DeskHtmlMinorVersion"=dword:00000005 "Settings"=dword:00000001

A visual basic 6 app that I wrote myself. It refreshes the desktop 3 times, only because it looks neater the quicker the backghround looks right, and if the system is busy or has a slow logon sometimes the first refresh does not have time to complete. Hell of a Kludge but it works. 'Declarations Private Declare Function SHChangeNotify Lib "Shell32.dll" (ByVal wEventID As Long, ByVal uFlags As Long, ByVal dwItem1 As Long, ByVal dwItem2 As Long) As Long Private Sub Form_Load() Visible = False Form2.Show End Sub Private Sub Timer1_Timer() Const SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED = &H8000000 Const SHCNF_FLUSH = &H1000 SHChangeNotify SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED, SHCNF_FLUSH, 0, 0 Unload Form2 End Sub Private Sub Timer2_Timer() Const SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED = &H8000000 Const SHCNF_FLUSH = &H1000 SHChangeNotify SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED, SHCNF_FLUSH, 0, 0 Unload Form1 End Sub Private Sub Timer3_Timer() Const SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED = &H8000000 Const SHCNF_FLUSH = &H1000 SHChangeNotify SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED, SHCNF_FLUSH, 0, 0 End Sub If anyone wants this compiled as a hidden exe then I will do it tomorrow, at the moment I use a splash screen which probably wont suit you guys.

Good old windows active desktop. If you refresh the background it will load correctly. I have an app that I use to refresh the desktop after everything has loaded. Also I use a script that fixes the desktop recovery error, it crashes every once in a while. Shame MS never fixed this.

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home Its now much better and getting as good as paid for software. Grab it while its free. Its from the same people who made the CCleaner app. I have used it on an old SD card and it chugged away and found all the photos. It has a wizard as well that will save you going through tons of files to find what you want.

Ok Heres a bargain Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home From the same people who make CCleaner, its free (for the moment) and very good when using the deep recovery. GRAB IT WHILE ITS FREE!

Yay with garish multi fills!

Platters Shatter? Consumer drives are normally Aluminium, and I have yet to come across a Glass platter even though they do exist. Lump Hammer will work fine though, pillar drill will also put them beyond use. Buy a bulk degausser if you have money. Or take them to your local shooting range and have yourself some fun.

The File system the way that data is organised on a hard disk. The files never "change" and do not care what file system you store them on. NTFS is better than FAT32 especially on larger HD's. In Fact I can think of no valid reason why you would choose FAT over NTFS on today's hardware unless you are using a small USB drive.

And clip art! Because that always makes things look better!!!!11

Well we host our school site on there which is php based. I have not looked at Joomla, but take a peak at what it needs, then go here to see if they have it included. UK Web Hosting - Netpivotal.co.uk # 1 Best UK Hosting supporting Frontpage, Unix and Windows UK websites. Linux Based Hosting £3.99 UK Web Hosting - Netpivotal.co.uk # 1 Best UK Hosting supporting Frontpage, Unix and Windows UK websites. Windows based hosting £4.50

I keep banging on about the HP server with quad core processors cause they are cheap and great at £350. Personally go to EduGeek.net at £3.99 a month with 2 gigs storage, sql, php, ruby, perl, python and god knows what else plus 80gigs bandwidth why have the hassle of another server to look after? The only problem I have ever had is today's, when their data centre power station blew up.

This is a new one on me, 10 out of 10 on the excuse meter. Hi Chris Saturday evening at 4:55 in the Houston data centre where the Rose server is located, an electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room Thankfully, no one was injured. In addition, no servers were damaged or lost and the data is still safely on the server. All members of the support team are in, and all vendors who supply the data center equipment are on site. The initial assessment, although early, points to being able to have some service restored by mid-afternoon on Sunday CDT. Rest assured the support team are working around the clock. There is no impact in any of our other servers. As we are unable to currently access the back-up systems we are unable to restore your account to another server but if you have a back-up copy of your site on your local machine we would be able to create an account for you on another server and for you to re-upload your data to this server. We do hope that during the next few hours access to the server will be regained as the team reinstate power to the affected servers. We are sorry that this accident has occurred and apologize for the impact. Best Regards, NetPivotal Team:eek:

Maplin > 150m VGA Extenders Maplin from £80

They have agreed to refund my money, not sure how much, I am still out of pocket because of the import duty. I think I am going to be making my own design up and have them printed myself.

Cafepress order arrived. I had to pay an extra £12 customs. The t shirts are of poor quality and mishapen. The print quality is appalling and is uneven and not even the same design as to what I ordered and certainly nothing like the Mythbusters shirt. If you saw this shirt in a shop for £3 you would not buy it, at £20 its the biggest ripp off ever. NEVER EVER ORDER FROM CAFEPRESS FOR ANY REASON!
