  2. Using photo shop, Make a work area of 150 dpi and a size of 6 x 4. Resize the photo of your son to the correct size at 150 dpi and copy and paste it onto the 6 x 4 work area. Goto Asda and print out the result for 30p. Or if you want more in depth instructions.

  7. I am having issues with SWGFL unfiltered staff proxy filtering certain websites, the two main ones affected are Facebook and Keepvid.com (keepvid site unfiltered but download links are). SWGFL are looking into it but are a little stumped, I put it down originally to a county policy but it does not appear to be the case. Is this affecting anyone else in Dorset or is it just our school? All info appreciated.
  8. I would contact you higher support as any interfering with the system could be prejudicial to legal action further on. County level support will be able to advise on how to proceed.

  10. People who can afford £1K for a digital connector don't deserve to keep hold of their money.
  11. Of course, a coat hanger doesn't have a Monster Cable lifetime warranty, so if your coat hanger breaks, you'll have to go out and buy another coat hanger.
  12. Just got this. This message gives an update on the 'Google ssl searching' issue I informed you of last week. Google have acknowledge the problem and this link explains how they are going to deal with the issue: Official Google Enterprise Blog: An update on encrypted web search in schools Put simply, Gmail & Gdocs will remain on https://www.google.com but Google will move their 'encrypted search' service to a new URL. At that point SWGfL will be able to remove the block on https://www.google.com However, the Google statement says this will be "in a few weeks".
  13. Lost without gmail and apps here. I have applied for it to be unblocked, as it is unlikely to be a major problem here with less tech savy junior school kids. If they were caught using ssl and searching for stuff that was less than savoury then they would loose their internet privileges. As an interesting aside, there have been rumblings about Ofsted wanting unfiltered access to the net for all kids. We should be teaching them what to do to avoid harmful content and what to do when they find it rather than trying make a pretend "safe" internet. With upwards of 90% of the net dedicated to pr0n and freaky stuff its always going to be easier to teach kids to avoid that to try to block every objectionable site.

Just a point, 360s have a three year warranty from Microsoft because they kept on breaking so regularly.
  16. Use solid mains cable, the higher amp the better (30amp cooker flex if you really want to push the boat out.). Flat cables go under the carpet nice and easy too.Expensive cables are a myth to separate the gullible from their money. The only repercussion of using mains cable is that you will save a shed load of money.
