  1. MMMMM it would have to happen at the end of creating a new image. Re Ghost methinks
  2. Back up the internet onto a floppy disc, this will come in handy.
  3. I installed active inspire (which seems overly buggy anyway) and now in add remove programs (XP) under the Promethean software is a set of long vertical black and blue stripes. This continues down the window a long way before finishing and showing the rest of the programs in the listing. Anyone come across this before?

    Ipad

Be honest you are typing this with the god awful ipad on screen keyboard aren't you?
  5. I was getting very annoyed at them, shame I was out of balls.
  6. I played recently in Southampton, it was one of the cheap entry we provide everything venues. Unfortunately the balls were priced at £7 per 100 (online they are £27 per 2000) so the games were very expensive and spoilt the fun. However, what a blast and boy did I ache after all the exercise. The ball hits did not hurt as much as I had been led to believe. Most of the games were spoilt by a small group of cheating chavs who refused to play by the rules, even ending up cancelling a game by shooting at players from the dead zone.
  7. Red text? Arghhhh! And the Layout *^*&%%!
  8. I nearly skidded into an oncoming taxi (who was on my side of the road). Both of us found that after a brief shower after weeks of sunshine the roads are like ice.
  9. But you are in one piece, now that's just fantastic!
  10. Absolutely and categorically not, blowing throw a straw would work better.
  11. Absolutely not. Small pumps like this produce high pressure air in incredibly small volumes. It delivers 7 litres a minute, a small air compressor will deliver 176 litres a minute but even this will need you to charge the reservoir for 20 seconds or more before you get a decent air flow.
  12. This one about running software on the school network is just too true. complain, even if the complaints makes no sense at all and you will get somewhere.
  13. This just made me giggle, If you act nutty enough fees get waived.
  14. Check that DHCP is working. Shut-down servers, restart switches bring it all back up on-line and see where you are.
  15. Fantastic, lol good.
  16. Never underestimate the stupidity of your users.
  17. My Dream home
  18. Tech Support It's 10% what you know 50% what you can google and 40% attitude when dealing with the lusers that do their best to thwart the good running of your network. (as seen on the side of my personal mug that I made a few years back).
  19. Once peoples voices start to slow down like a tape player when the batteries are going its time to drop your caffeine intake a little.
  20. Networks should exist in splendid isolation. A Network is of thing of unimaginable beauty and complexity put together out of a myriad of components produced by thousands of companies. Putting it together and getting it to work is nothing less than a modern miracle. Such computing power assembled in one place was unimaginable just 20 years ago and yet here it is. You have breathed life into this huge sprawling and interconnected animal. You have done battle with poorly written device drivers. You will have split blood on the razor sharp edges of pc cases. You will have lost count of the number of bottles of pepsi max that you have consumed (your pulse will play an interesting beat). In the end you will know the purr of a happy network and know instinctively when something is wrong even before the first error appears in a log file. Unfortunately all of your users will have no appreciation of this, they will just expect it to work like a pocket calculator even after they have clicked on angelina-jolie-naked.exe. This will make you cry and we will all feel your pain.
  21. Garageband for PC Seriously one app to spend 3 x the money on a suite? Wow
  22. There would need to be a VERY strong argument as to what software is Mac only to justify the cost.
  23. Macs are great for people who can't use computers.
  24. It is hard to balance the axiom that the customer is always right when all evidence says otherwise.
  25. Your knees need to last until your 50's because you won't get them replaced before then on the NHS.
