touch stops on tablet pc after login the touch screen works to the login screen. Once a restricted user logs in, the touch part will stop working. Its same for other staff too. If the tablet is locked the touch comes back. Any suggestions? we very new to tablets. Its an rm slate 100 DG

we are deploying printer via gp prefs.if a user logs into a pc for first time there is no printers. login say 3rd time and then it will list the 3 printers. This is not aceptable, i need printers there every login. what have i missed.

We have just bought a mustek 2400 pro a3 scanner to convert cource work. We install the software which includes drivers. then when we plug in the scanner the found hardware wizard pops up and sais wants drivers. we tried on another pc and win 7 pc as well as xp the support is rubbish and takes weeks for them to get back to an email. there suggestion was to download latest drivers from website. Grrr has any one else used mustek before or even beter have this scanner and give me some pointers on how to get to work.

Hi, Does any one have a dell usff optiplex 780 pc case. Can be any condition. We are having 2 ICT suites built and builders are custom making the desks. They are going to make a bracket for them that attaches to desks. I want to give them an actual case so they get fixings etc right. Have tried dell, and outlets , but no one has one. also tried ebay. i tried chnaging association to outlook. didn't work for me. Dan

yes, the custom tool will create the prf. the issue seems to be that many things use the ext .prf i need office to use it, but on my builds somethink else is using it. i have created my own prf using the custom tool but makes no differance if associations aren't right.

no i didn't sort this. We now going to use outlook web mail with all users. We will distribute office with no outlook. let me know if you find a solution

i used mysysprep version 2 it pops up asking for computer name and then asks you what domain you want. i have it auto populated with the 1 domain i have , so we just have to click ok.

i want to use a prf file to open outlook 2010 without the user having to enter info into the wizard. This can be done with a prf file and worked well for years with 2003. the problem is that the clean image we pull down to a laptop is seeing the prf file as a PICS Rating File. If i look at the same file on my tech desktop its seen as a Microsoft Office Outlook Profile Settings file both run win 7 , my desktop runs office 2003 and the other 2010 any ideas

Has any one come accross the policy or script to disable the function to custom a folder. I know i could hide context menus, but think we need them left on. So users could open a folder , right click and add inapropriate pics at folder images etc. Dan

Have removed the exe with del preff in gpo Solved problem with error. drop protection prob wont work. never mind.

update: it is caused by ff_protection application that runs at startup Its an accelrometer built into the laptop. I have manually remove from msconfig and that has got rid of the error. How can i then block this from running at startup with gpo or script. Dan

I have created a fresh win 7 wds image for a latitude e5410 Before i captured the image there was no error. When i pull down the image to a diffarent e5410 and login as any user i get a error message. "Error Handle" no other info given cant find much in events logs any one know what this is about. Is it an issue with my deployment some how? please help if you can, i very close to completing a working deployment. Dan

i want to be give access to windows search so users can find files. when i put in unc to our file server in search box displayed all the shares on the server. I want to set via gpo the areas that search can know about. eg, home areas and shared documents only. Has any one locked this down. Dan

I have an issue that could require us to del all profiles. When ever a user logs onto a pc that they haven't been on before office 2003 will try to do a first run routine. This annoys some users. Is there a way to tell office not to do this. so we can then go ahead and use del prof etc to ditch profiles. We deploy office via gpo.

There are so many tablets out there now with android on. We are looking to get one for wireless registration for PE. Looking to spend under £200 and have wireless N networking. Probably want 10" ideally. What have people used and liked and would meet my needs. Dan G

i think i understand that. And when promted for driver, point at x86 . what about if we are using con2port or ad to deploy printers. Dont want users having to look for drivers.

We have setup a new server 2008 r2 server as our print server. I have installed 64 bit drivers for all printers. If i send test print from server directly it works fine. How ever if i add a printer from ad from new server and try and print it sais it doesn't have any drivers available for that printer, and asks do i want to search for them. All workstations are x86 Old server is also online, thats a 2003. what am i doing wrong? I'm sure its something silly. Dan
