If you change the SQL password within mysql you will need to update config.php for Moodle. (assuming there's no other plugins using the details hardcoded elsewhere) Quick search through the moodle file structure for the password itself may help you here but 9/10 times it's just config.php you need to update. Changing the password for php? I don't run windows webservers so I'm not sure if this happens or whether this is something different I don't know about.

I'd boot from a livecd and mount the raw volume and just nick the files that way. Expect the IP is a prob because the underlying mac has changed.

Check what your DHCP server domain is on the non domain joined client and see if that matches. Could be that your DHCP is passing out bob.com and when you need internallan.internal so the items you're looking up are being looked up as item.bob.com instead of item.internallan.internal

A somewhat bodged and backwards way of looking at it that might work is setting the default domain on the actual workstation you're connecting to. In my experience this is how it's worked on earlier OS XP/2003 if the 'default domain' was set to the domain not the local computer then logging in without the ntdomain worked fine (or logging in with username@domain) Windows7/2008/etc kind of changes that a bit but it might work if you set the default domain on the destination machine but I'm not sure (we add the domain to our apps for this reason to avoid chance!)

In theory yes, though I've seen circumstances where people have encrypted files and changing the password has upset this. A 'better' solution might be to boot up using a linux cd or something (or remove the disk and use a caddy) and browse the disk to recover a back up of the files before doing the above. I'd suggest this as a belt and braces.

Modify your script to create a folder on your C drive or something to be sure the script is running. Also, check your event log incase a software restriction policy is stopping the script running.
