  1. Lady Gaga? Anyone who can screech like that in public has got to have balls! I see no Ladies hereabouts - just female teccy peeps. A Lady wouldn't be seen crawling under a desk. (Not before Dinner anyway! )
  2. Some Signatures are getting rather big and annoying. Sponsor signatures are the exception in moderation as they do have to advertise themselves. The About Us page is out of date as is this page The history of EduGeek.net The direct support is a bit of a waste of time at the moment EduGeek.net - Direct Support are there no other links? Is the user map used any more? EduGeek.net Forums - Googlemap ME The calendar only shows Birthdays, nothing like conferences or BETT shows! Is there any other point to it? EduGeek.net Forums - Calendar Just a few to be getting on with
  3. Spring Clean - I emailed admins a suggestion or two a while ago on this very subject. Nothing heard back, so check your messages
  4. OK - Thanks
  5. Are those specific instructions available anywhere? I can't see anything on the AQA web site.
  6. I forgot about the separate accounts option although there are still some things that need ironing out as you say. The other thing is, who has access to those accounts? I presume the invigilators\teachers will have read only access? Is the work printed off and sent out or is it done electronically? One day Exam Boards will think things through before coming up with stupid ideas - like that's going to happen! On a slightly different tack - How will BSF schools cope when there isn't a technician on hand to enable and disable these accounts?
  7. Having a chat with our head of English and she informs me that the exam boards are looking to stop internet access and spell checking in some english lessons. We don't have the full details yet but it raises the question of how it could be done. It's easy enough to block internet access and use of the spell check but how would we do it for certain students at certain times on specific laptops during a 2 week timetable? The clients will be used by other subject students and even the same students learning a different subject on the same laptop GPO to the client laptop - will work but will effect all users at all times. GPO to the students - again will work but will effect other subjects. Any thoughts on this or even better, clarification of what AQA are planning would be useful.
  8. Part of our AUP says the following;
  9. Much appreciated - I fogot to mention that this is for inclusion in the plan for the next FY 10/11 so no rush
  10. Yep - Some examples of my wildlife pics are here album/Wildlife Not good enough to go pro though
  11. I had this one till recently - Yep not good to eat
  12. From experience and forums the 'P' Series are nothing but problematic, especially on a network, so I'm trying to avoid them. I may look at some Brother Models.
  13. Nice try though These will be used in IT Suites so will get a hammering. The 4000 series have been good work horses for us.
  14. That's a colour printer, the 4250 is\was a mono printer
  15. As usual the reliable and robust printer we like has been discontinued Anyone know what replaced the HP 4250N series? The job of trawling through all the specs is not one I enjoy
  16. Probably too pricey and overkill for what you need but I just bought 4 of these for the IT Team. LEXAR SECURE II PLUS 16GB USB KEY - Misco.co.uk The software allows you to create a 'Secure Vault' for any extra sensitive data as well as a few other usefull tools. Only had them a couple of days but so far no problems.
  17. Printers? IWB/Projector Updates, maybe a new Audio Visual system for the Hall. Video editing suite would be useful if you think the school would use it.
  18. White, 2 sugars please
  19. If all you require is Internet access, using web applications and are prepared to use something like Google docs and email then you may as well use an IPod Touch. The 8GB version is £142 from Amazon. I admit, charging them may be a problem, unless someone has come up with a 30+ charging unit?
  20. Is this a Group Hug Moment? *sniff* I love you guys!!!
  21. DB created the site and it's only fair that he is paid as the hired help to do all the background stuff and promote EG. No one pays a subscription fee, it's up to DB's efforts to ensure that the site is supported and he gets a wage packet
  22. Nope - Thought control only - saves moving around a heavy mouse
  23. What is Edugeek? What is religion? What is a thought? Why do trees exist and what time is it on the other side of the universe? Edugeek - just is!
  24. It changes every so often but currently it is this one - All my own work
  25. You're one of those drivers that has never had an accident but have seen hundreds in your rear view mirror
