I can now see the Ethernet in Settings but it's not picking up an IP address. I'd love to get this working as it's would save so much hassle going forward, but its very frustrating!

I have one that I used to be able to use to remove passcodes when the iPad had no wifi. It hasn't worked recently, and I assumed it was because the iPad was locked but I've just tried it on an unlocked iPad and it doesn't appear at all. Previously I would get an Ethernet Option appearing underneath the Wifi Settings. Does anyone have an adaptor that works, specifically when the iPad is locked?

Schoolcomms pulls through 1000s of groups, one for every class/subject combination (5 Eagles Maths, 5 Eagles English etc etc), these are all duplicates and quite annoying. I've just spoken to Schoolcomms who said I need to make the groups inactive - first off, that sounds wrong as they are genuine classes and they all appear on the timetable so I think they are Active Groups, but does anyone know where I would go to make these groups inactive? They aren't listed in any of the 'Groups' options within SIMS.

I have a W10 PC that works fine when I log in, however, for a few members of staff as soon as they login the screen goes black. I can do CNTL-ALT-DEL and run Chrome, but ifI try and run explorer.exe it just crashes straight back out, no desktop icons ever appear for them. I have completely wiped and rebuilt the machine, and thought it was working ok, but one of the previous problem users logged in and we are back to the black screen issue. I have a 'test' account and that can login fine. Any ideas? I am flummoxed. Its one of those tiny Micro sized PCs from Stone, if that makes any difference.

What do you use to generate the reports / email them home? We currently use Matrep to generate the wordy part of the report, and have just moved to OTrack for tracking levels etc, neither of which offer any sort of email / online reporting facility. We have SchoolComms which offers an online reporting module but I assume that's for SIMS marksheet type reports which we no longer use?

Thank you, I have found the import/export tools and have managed to export them all to PDF. I will take a look at the plain text and see if that's any easier.

Is there a way to print/export all the emails from multiple folders using Thunderbird? I have managed to import them all but they are in 50 seperate folders.

I am not checking out Edublogs which looks interesting.

We are setting up some wordpress class blogs and I would like to give the kids their own logins but the login emails are all going into SPAM. I have whitelisted them, so they don't end up in Admin Quarantine but they still end up in the spam folder in the individual inboxes. I have created a rule in my inbox to stop them going to spam. Is there anyway I can stop them going into Spam for everyone. I don't want to have Year 5 trying to create gmail rules! Alternatively, is there any other blogging software that works well for kids / classes, where the kids can blog and the teachers can approve the posts before it is published? We want to do the 100 word challenge, so each child needs to be able to write a blog, the teacher will approve it, and then it can be publically commented on.

We have been creating a new topic for each date, and some classes have now hit 100 topics which appears to be the maximum. I want to move all the course-work items from March to July into a single topic called '2019-2020' but I can't work out how to update the topic id through GAM? I can list them, and I can see all the topic ids but I cant find the right command to change it. >gam update course-work course 62828931577 workid 54705092119 CourseTopicID 54705092120 >gam update course-work course 62828931577 workid 54705092119 TopicID 54705092120 both fail. I can list the specific piece of course work like this gam print course-work course 62828931577 workid 54705092119 but I cant work out how to update any of the fields.

I am working on exporting GAM attendance data. Ideally I'd like to run a daily scheduled script to create a google sheet for each teacher. Is it possible to format the date output, currently the id.time looks like 2021-01-17T21:03:47+00:00 I really only want yyyy-mm-dd

Attendance for Meet doesnt' seem to be available for education accounts, only 'enterprice for education' which is not free.

The link never changes. I have put a post on each class work page but it relies on the teacher putting all of their assignments into folders to keep it at the top of the page. It’s not a huge issue ow was just trying to make it easier.

Our pupils write on PDF files using the pencil icon - I think it's an inbuilt iPad feature. It works very well. The PDF is attached so each child gets a copy, and when they click on the lnk there is a pencil in the top corner and they can click on that and write on top of the PDF.

We are generally finding google classroom very good, and we only use iPads. But we do allow safari. Not being able to click a link would make it significantly more difficult.
-
The link is on the top of the google classroom, but it's not very obvious and they can struggle to find it. If they click the link in google classroom then it opens in the google meet app. All of our pupils have iPads so I was wanting to just put the link on the homescreen but it doesn't open the app when I do that. - - - Updated - - - That is what we are doing but it slides down the stream so it needs to be reposted every day. I was hoping to pin it somewhere they can easily find it.
-
Needless to say, we are using the free education version of all things google

Our students have to login to their google classroom meet chat every morning. On the laptop the link is easily displayed but on an iPad, there is no link and just a small camera icon which they can't always find. I was thinking of putting a shortcut on their ipad homescreen to the specific meeting but it opens in a browser rather than in the google meet app. is there a way to add a configuration which specifies the meeting?
-
That's very strange, it appears to be blocked in school but ok at home. Still no iPads available though, unless I missed them while I was messing about at school trying to login

Anyone managed to get on this morning and order any iPads? I've been trying this morning but it seems to have crashed.
