  1. Is is possible to do anything 'clever' in the RTF reports, we have some fields that are True / False, and I'd like them to display as Yes / No.
  2. I've seen that smapping option pop up on W11 but I hadn't realised what it was for. That's quite useful.
  3. Yes, but the poster doesn't want to use shared iPad mode as you have to log in / out.
  4. We don't have any appleids on the shared iPads at all. All apps are installed via the MDM whcih does not require an AppleID to install a volume purchased app. I don't back up the photos on the shared iPads, but you could use something like Google Photos which can be set up backup every photo taken automatically - You can have them all backed up to the same account, or set up one google account per device.
  5. I am unable to import the results, when I search for the CTF file it either cannot be found, or it shows it as being in an invalid format. Is anyone else also experiecing this>
  6. We have a set of spare iPads that are borrowed by students / staff who have forgotten those. When they are borrowed I change the owner in Jamf School so that I can see who has borrowed them. I'd love to add a QR to the iPads, so that I could scan the ipad, and it would open up Jamf so I could change the owner, Add a group to the iPad ("Checked out") and send an email to the new owner. I can manage a QR which opens up the details for the specific iPad, I'd love to use something like IFTTT (But ideally on Windows) to change the group and send the email. Is there anything out there that can do such a thing? And the reverse when it's checked back in? Remove the group, and owner?
  7. The Beam is an all in one machine, so I would assume we would have no issues with the bank panels falling off. I just wondered if there were any other issues I needed to worry about.
  8. We currently have the Very PC Flex machines and have had a few issues with quality. Mostly very noisy fans, and the backs are prone to falling off. I like the look of the Beam all in ones, I was just wondering how other people had found them?
  9. Oh, how annoying. I know we had to upgrade ours a few years ago, and when I looked at the website I thought it was showing that it had moved online.
  10. They are both available online now.
  11. I have managed to get it working by using the original database which was set to 3306 (it was from an earlier attempt to setup SNIPE last year). I had to alter the user to use the correct version of security. ALTER USER 'snipeit'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED WITH mysql_native_password and critically, I discovered that if you change the .env file then you need to flush the cache. php artisan config:cache It's all working now, just working on getting my data transferred across.
  12. I think the problem is that it wouldnt let me create the datebase with the port 3006, so I created it as 3007. I don't know how to tell SNIPE to use the different port - If I look in MySQL workbench on 3006 I can see the user is set to caching_sha2_password, but on 3007 it is set to Standard.
  13. I used MariaDB to set everything up - this is 10.0.14-MariaDB However the GUI is called HeidiSQL and that's 8.3.0.4694 I can't check in MySQL on the command line as everytime I try and use it I get the message about the Authentication plugin 'caching_sha2_password' cannot be loaded: The specified module could not be found. Even if I use the root user.
  14. I also found the # issue when I googled - fortunately, there are no # in my password. I have tried the command line C:\Program Files\MariaDB 10.0\bin>mysql -h 127.0.0.1 -u snipe -p snipeit Enter password: ********* ERROR 2059 (HY000): Authentication plugin 'caching_sha2_password' cannot be loaded: The specified module could not be found. and I tried c:\inetpub\wwwroot\snipe-it>php artisan db Command "db" is not defined. Did you mean one of these? db:seed db:wipe my .env file looks like this -------------------------------------------- # REQUIRED: DATABASE SETTINGS # -------------------------------------------- DB_CONNECTION=mysql DB_HOST=127.0.0.1 DB_DATABASE=snipeit DB_USERNAME='snipe' DB_PASSWORD=password-is-here DB_PREFIX=null DB_DUMP_PATH='C:\\PROGRA~1\\MARIAD~1.0\\bin' DB_CHARSET=utf8mb4 DB_COLLATION=utf8mb4_unicode_ci Where would I find the log file for more details?
  15. Yes. I started with snipeit but then tried Creating a new user with the name snipe to see if that would help.
  16. I have been trying to setup Snipe-IT today, following this instructions. https://blog.masteringmdm.com/snipe-it-installation-on-windows-server It has all worked well, and I have the snipe Pre-Flight Check on the screen, but the database is showing an error. D'oh! Looks like we can't connect to your database. Please update your database settings in your .env file. Your database says: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'snipe'@'localhost' (using password: YES) (SQL: select 2 + 2) I have checked the database name / username / password are all corrected in the .env file, and have deleted the database / user and recreated them a few times but I can't seem to get past this message. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
  17. Brilliant! I had missed that previously.
  18. Unfortunately, it's not something you can lock, and I think the pupils change it to get extra lives in games (which they are allowed to play at home).
  19. Just thought I'd update this in case anyone else is struggling with it. It seems to happen when the date /time is wrong on the iPad. If you set the time to Automatic, then the problem goes away.
  20. Thats what I thought until today but this is a brand new line which will be installed - hence the high fee. I think the reason it is dark is because BT etc dont' provide a service on it, you have to provide your own service, which in our case would be provided by the council. They will also provide the internet service for an additional charge. I don't have a problem with their charge for the internet service, but I am struggling to see the benefits of a 25 year lease on a new line when I can use a BT line for no installation costs. However, I feel I must be missing something.
  21. We are being pushed by our LEA to sign up for the installation of a new cable for a 'dark fibre' network at a cost of £1200/year for 25 years. That's just for the cable installation. Alternatively, we can move to a local provider who would use the existing infrastructure and there would be no installations costs. The local provider are offering '1000Mbps FTTP Internet Broadband Service' The service costs for both a broadly similiar. Having just had a discussion with the LEA about the benefits of the dark fibre option, the main benefit seems to be 'future proofing', and that the bandwidth / speeds can be increased in the future. I can't find any information about what the actual difference is between the two. Other than dark fibre uses 'unlit' fibres. Does anyone know / understand what the actual benefits are? It's a big investment if the BT line will be sufficient, but if we will be regretting it in 5 or 10 years time, then maybe it is worth the investment?
  22. I've bought AOC 22 in screens, which were a huge improvement on what they had before. We've also gone for an all in one PC, so the 2nd monitor doesn't match exactly but they are the same size. The All in one PCs are nice and tidy on the desk and reduce the cables etc.
  23. It's not Flash based and it works in a normal browser now.
  24. We are having the same issue with Chome. No obvious similiarities. Sometimes a restart and clear of cache fixes it, but the last few have been very stubborn and won't shift.
  25. We have a handful of iPads that won't login to mymaths. The password is correct when entered (if it's incorrect it says so ), but it just refreshes the page and puts them back onto the login page. I've tried clearing the cache in safari, rebooting the iPads, resetting network settings, removing securly, I am completely baffled by it. Has anyone encountered this before?
