  1. We use Papercut MF with MFD scattered around site and due to current restrictions in place around school, some year groups are having difficulty in accessing a print to print out work. I have set up a normal printer and installed a PC as a Print Release station. I've added this printer to the physical list of printers on the virtual printer (used for follow me printing) Configuration looks ok as when students log in they can only see their print jobs - but when they release the print job, it show as being sent to the printer and the data light starts to flash and then nothing! Papercut shows as the documents being printed fine I can print fine to the printer directly - so printer working fine. So I am slightly as a loss as to what is going on. For those use who print release stations point me in a general direction of how to troubleshoot this. Cheers.
  2. With students number who are self isolating going up - I thought I best at this so devices are still locked down, access to network and filtered. In terms of IP Ranges for VPN Clients - where have you created the VLAN for this range - on your LAN or firewall? Cheers.
  3. Actually purchased from Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07Y3D36Z3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. That would be the way I would like to do it but struggled to do it. - so opted for a page per year group with the sql code filtering on that page.
  5. Have found a slightly easier method by creating a separate PHP file for each Year Group search/filter criteria. So each Year Group has their own page with the code $query_rsNotices = "SELECT * FROM tblnotices WHERE noticesDateStart <= DATE(NOW()) AND noticesDateEnd >= DATE(NOW()) AND noticesYearGroup like '%7%' ORDER BY noticesDateStart DESC"; which returns correct results for that year group (I just need change noticesYearGroup like '%7%' to for the other year groups). Not pretty or elegant but does the job.
  6. their initials..... After seeking ICO advice, we went back and asked them to refine their search criteria after we explained that PA would return numerous results due to be part of words etc. After explain this to the person who requested the SAR - they have since withdrawn the request.
  7. My PHP/MySql skills are very basic - I am able to take snippets of code and workout what to change to suit my needs - but takes a bit of time and a lot of trial and error. I have a php message page/intranet page (thanks to @FragglePete for kindly letting me pinching it) I've mage some changes to the pages and added checkbox array to allow staff to select Year Groups as apart of the data input form with the aim to be able to filter by them. Data added ok and I can amended data - by way of implode and explode of the checkbox data to save the data as Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, etc And this is the bit I am now struggling with..... I want to create clickable links which them filters the data based on the Year Group ticked on the checkboxes. Eg... I have a Year 7 link - when clicked it will filer any messages which has been ticked for Year 7 (regardless if other Year groups have been ticket as well) Hope that makes sense.....
  8. Replaced our old Netgear with a mixture of UniFi EdgeMax Lites POE and non POE versions. - 31 in total. Not had any issues with them and been using them for 3 years now. 48 port versions have 2 x 1 SFP and 2 x 10GB SFP as standard Strangely the 24 and 16 port versions on have 2 x 1GB SFP There is a version of NMS you can use but you cannot centrally managed them apart from deploying updating and rebooting them. Any config changes to switches need to be done on the individual switch such as VLAN configs etc. Opted for EdgeMax Lites as i didn’t need or want cloud management as I understoood the UniFi (white ones)could only be managed by cloud management. If you need stackage switches then don’t do for these as there is not stackable options.
  9. Ended up grabbing a copy of IPEVO Visualiser as they allow free usage and the member of staff was happier as they said had more functionality.
  10. Have you checked the WSUS pool in IIS? https://thetechl33t.com/2017/03/29/wsus-app-pool-crashes-with-sccm-syncronization/
  11. Been given a Lumen DC125 visualiser to install with no software. Downloaded the lastest version from their website and installed. However.... run fine as an admin user but for staff it prompts to install required files Have tried ALLUSER="1" but that hasnt worked. Anyone installed this software before and any ideas as to why it is wanting to reinstall/update for standard users?? ProcMonitor hasn't shown any real reasons either. Cheers Mark
  12. No idea if will work but how about removing client from sccm and when the client next reports in, sccm will re add it. I assumed when a client is removed any previous/historical data is also removed so would that mean It would redo checks for updates etc?
  13. I have a SAR (DSR in Office 365) which part of the SAR they have asked for the keyword PA (their initials) Is there anyway I can get the DSR to only search for PA and not PA contain within other words such as PAndemic? Cheers
  14. That might just do the trick Cheers for the info
  15. Cannot comment - as I investigated signed up for the trial and gave SLT all the info - this was back in March and I have heard nothing since. To get AD credentials working, had to allow their IP through using LDAPS port direct to a DC - since this is a direct connection from their end to ours I was happy to allow that through. If AD has emails etc then it just syncs credentials and same for SIMS.net, installs their sync tools and it just did the job.
  16. That is a bit of a faff - if they forget to have the client page open in a browser then anything they previously printed isnt shown. Is there a way they can select shared account when they go to the MFD to release the job? - similar to copying? Cheers
  17. I'm current using Papercut version Version: 20.0.2 (Build 54736) and have configured mobility printing and come across an issue. Student account work fine as they are charged directly to their personal accounts and no accounts are required to be selected. Here is the problem we have come across. When staff print, they are required to select a which shared account their printing is being charged to - which obviously required the Papercut client running to work. When the shared account is selected, we then charge the personal account (and allocate to shared account for reporting) If staff print using the mobility printing option - then the jobs are held due to not being able to select a shared account and therefore no way of releasing the print job. Anyone any ideas how to get around this? Cheers
  18. Would all users who use this services need a P1 license??
  19. I investigated systems signed up to a trial of this, configured to used AD credentials etc, sims sync the lot - sent details to all SLT and left it with them. Has timers to ensure things don’t run over etc, initially SLT seemed very impressed and asked me to give various staff admin rights (such as Lower and upper school admin staff and the sixth form team) so they could look in it further. Found out yesterday 6th form team which includes some SLT are planning to use Zoom to hold one to one parent talks. What changed I have no idea or if they have even looked at the system properly but needless to say i am and wasn’t happy about hearing the word Zoom!
  20. Had a similar issue with mail groups - ended up removing them from Azure and then letting it all sync again and been fine since.
  21. Not software as such- but what about EduGeek?? Helped many us of in so many different ways and first port of call when troubleshooting issues.
  22. You could always use the Community editions as these don’t require serials number but do require someone to sign in with either a 365 account or MS account.
  23. +1 Salamander - staff love email groups and saves so much time especially for creating new users etc.
  24. Managed to buy a reader off eBay and works a treat so now able to add cards via the back office.
  25. Managed to get a Logitech webcam and all sorted. Took photos directly into net2 which was much quicker and got a whole year group done in a couple of hours. Biggest down side is that’s I’ve since found out I cannot export the photos from Net2
