Love how our staff have been saying it must be a bandwidth issue - they all must be experts now!! Anyway ISP have confirmed our usage and it tallies with LibreNMS graphs so when they were using the parents evening system, it using a fraction of our limit so rules out bandwidth issues.
-
Thanks all, will put our internal DNS forwarders to Google and our ISP and see how that goes.

Parents Evening on SchoolCloud using Webcams - audio normally fine on teams calls (or rather I haven't had any complaints about audio until now)
-
Smoothwall is also our firewall and in a previous post I asked about DNS settings I had this reply
-
Pings to smoothwall, fibre core and copper core switches are all around <1ms with the odd ping being slightly higher. Pings to google all approx 15ms No timeouts
-
Internal DNS use Domain Controllers which then forward to Smoothwall which then forwards to GoogleDNS

Not sure where to put this...... Past 2 years have been issue free across the network infrastructure and on the whole staff have been very happy with network performance. Since September staff have been complaining about slowness in general and also at times internet issues. Nothing has change on the network infrastructure side of things, only real change has been moving from Windows 10 1803 to 1909. Lastnight when running schoolcloud Parents Evening, all staff all reported issues ranging from random disconnects to audio issues. - Devices were a mixture of wired desktops to wireless devices. We are running a 300MB connection (soon to be upgraded to 1GB) - smoothwall traffic graphs showed all ok, and LibreNMS graphs also showed everything as ok - when I looked at the smoothwall graphs and the core switch port used to connect smoothwall to the LAN, both we showing approx 50mb of traffic usage. I've asked our ISP to check the line incase of issues. Anyone any other suggestions what I can look at to try and diagnose these intermittent issues? Will try and attach a network diagram soon as I can install Visio to open it! Cheers

Thanks for the replies everyone - looks like issues were our end......

Did anyone experience any issues with the system last night? Having staff report issues between 4pm and 6pm with connection/sound issues and I am trying to work out which if the issues were our end or school cloud.

How are you trying to add to Intune? I've created a User Driven Enrollment profile and downloaded it as a JSON file and saved it as AutopilotConfigurationFile.json in C:\Windows\Provisioning\AutoPilot folder. using this guide https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/autopilot/existing-devices Assigned an Intune License to my test user Not sure if you need Azure Branding configured - I am sure more qualified/seasoned Intune people will correct me Then Sysprep /oobe /reboot
-
Originally thought intune would be a pain but I am actually quite liking it! Deploying apps is straight forward Just fighting with Smoothwall Cloud Filter Once happy with that I can then need to look how to lock the laptops down
-
So I could enroll as me and then hand to student to then login and away they go?
-
Sign up was asking for mobile number for text messages etc. Will strip things back and try again on the user join option just incase I added some odd settings. @snagrat do you use user join option for students?
-
Created a User Driven AutoPilot join and think this to be too complicated for some users, so I created an AutoPilot Deployment Profile for a Device Driven join. I've downloaded the profile as a JSON file and saved and named in the correct locations. laptop meets requirements - UEFI boot and TMP 2.0 etc Run sysprep /oobe /reboot and laptop reboots and begins the Intune signup but fails on the Device Preperation stage (error code 0x800705b4) with the message Installation exceeded the time limit set by your organisation. Anyone use Device Driven profiles? Cheers

Scratch that..... looks like it got set to Intune as the MDM Authority by default. Next question..... Intune AD Connector...... yes or no??
-
Just looking at intune training videos and come up across a section which talks about MDM Authority - but when I look on my intune portal, I cannot find it. Has this been removed? Cheers

Just got a StarTech MST30C2DPPD dock to test on an Acer TravelMate P2 (P214-52) Works well so far.

MS Teams - students creating calendar events/meetings
mdrabble replied to mdrabble's topic in Cloud Services
No, not a live event. If a student goes on their calendar, then clicks on a date, they are able to create a new scheduled meeting, where they can add people. They receive the meeting invite and have option to Join Meeting Now. I thought with the policies in place, this would have stopped this but I was clearly wrong - unless something is broken. -
I've signed up for the trial so I can look at managing some student laptops which will be going off site. Did look at AOVPN but if they dont have internet then not much use to them. Once I've has a play I may look at purchase licences which I have already costed thanks to @VeryPC

I have Education (Secondary school student) policy assigned to all students. They are unable to create teams or do meet now.... but I have found if they create a calendar event and add people, they can then hold a team meeting. Anyone come across this and know how to stop it? Cheers

Has anyone got an idiots guide to using intune? Starting from scratch and no idea what I am doing as yet. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers

Moving Shared Drives to SharePoint - any pointers!
mdrabble replied to mdrabble's topic in Cloud Services
Only using SharePoint to hold shared docs. Will use OneDrive to hold User data but that way way off at the moment as want to get bulk of shared documents moved over. God knows how staff will cope - they don’t even know/remember how to access the IT HelpGuides I set up despite me emailing everyone almost monthly about how to access it.
